I thought this was going to be a new statement on the overturning of roe. I’m glad(?) it’s not that, but yeah not great day
I guess Sam Webb said he thinks if Moore could go back in time he would do it and commit to ND before Carr. Will be interested to hear from Loy what went on behind the scenes when it’s all said and done
Here’s yesterday’s Statement https://www.nd.edu/stories/notre-da...sc-on-supreme-courts-dobbs-v-jackson-decision
I doubt that’s true because Carr still seems to want to be 2024 and that’s a bizarre mindset for a 5 star to have to be worried about a guy a year younger. He can still commit if he wants
not surprised, think the same thing. His dad got him to hold off and then seemed to stall even further, he's going to end up somewhere he doesn't want to be as much as a result.
Exactly, and the staff probably saw the potential problem with the dad coming up every year which diminishes the value of moore as a recruit. it’s a shame really. I still want him bad but not if it’s going to be always a drama because of his dad. That could create too much of a negative impact potentially on the team.
It seems all of these schools have prioritized Rashada over Moore. Oregon, Miami, Florida, and Texas A&M all have had Rashada top of their board.
That may be true, but it also wouldn’t be a surprise if our QB scouting is entirely different than the consensus. That seems to be normal for Rees.
i'm confused, you saying that Rashada is better than Dante? Dante was one of the best QBs/players at the gigantic camp in Vegas just a couple of weeks ago winning the MVP award one day and getting ranked every day. His film is crazy good and just about everyone who's seen him in person thinks he's crazy good (thus the super high ranking ahead of Rashada) I don't think he's going to end up in ND's class because of Carr but he's elite and I would love to have him for the 2023 class and Carr in 2024 but just don't think that's going to happen
I’m not saying it. I’m saying all of those other coaching staffs have prioritized Rashada over Moore per their beat writers. It’s been reported quite a few times that he was getting larger NIL offers than Moore from a few different schools.
Rashada let it be known he could be bought long ago in his recruitment. It is not surprising all the top NIL schools prioritized him after that. He's the easier get They are both very good but I would have Moore above Rashada for sure
Singer switched his Moore pick to Oregon. Both he and coach d say there is a ton behind the scenes on this one. Will be interesting. Think the only hope is if he takes it into the season and ovs but seems over. Weird no other qb offers have gone out.
Which basically brings us to - if Buchner sucks, terrible move unless they can get someone from the portal. If Buchner is good, great move because Moore was for sure going to leave if he has to redshirt.
i'm totally confused by what you are saying. Whether it's Dante or Carr in the 2023 class, it's basically the same - an elite caliber QB that will step in for Buchner when he leaves or gets hurt. Am I missing something?
Carr would be 18 and have played 2 full season of football already (Buchner only had 1) so I think he'd be more than ready to go in 2023 if called upon. He's already outperforming QBs in the 2023 class right now.
I don’t worry about Buchner’s ability, I worry about his ability to stay healthy given his style of play and his health history. I question the ability of every other qb on the current roster. We need a guy that can step in and play next year if needed. CJ has a great skill set but looks about 20lbs away from being able to take a hit from the Will Andersons of the world
The best thing we got going is whoever is QB in ‘23 will have Juniors Alt and Fish at tackle. I could give us a couple solid reps with those two protecting me.
I definitely think that Dante is more filled out than CJ right now but I think CJ could put on a good 15-20 lbs over the next year and half before the 2023 season
