His course is that way. You can go low but every hole could be a double or worse if you get out of position

iirc on one of the most recent NLU pods they talk about those guys all being from the same agency and most of that agency pushing their clients to LIV

that was cheeky fun for a few years in response to taking Doral away from #45, but if we are going to still keep the WGCs afloat...ideal to move that tournament somewhere better.

Played Lakewood National today since Jigga got scared and called Streamsong to make them close the course so we couldn’t play this week. LN is probably one of my favorite courses I’ve played since I moved to Tampa. If you’re ever in the Sarasota area give it a go if you can. Shot 82 with 2 triple bogeys. Had a guy in our group get a hole in one. That was cool to see. He didn’t think it went and rolled over the ridge to the bottom tier. Pulled up to the green and no ball to be found other than in the cup.

My claim to fame is not a hole in one but the best par I ever made. It was roughly a 165 yd downhill par 3 with woods left of the green. I blocked out my first shot and it went into the woods. I teed it up again and dropped it in for a hole in 3.

Trying to think of how many Par 3’s I’ve likely played in my life. Going to guess ~15,000. Never even been close. Was a + handicap for the majority of those rounds.

I’ve got two aces. My first one was a 165 yarder across a pond that I kind of bladed. It landed past the hole and trickled down and dropped when I was 18 years old in HS

By far the best shot of my life was two years ago when I got my 2nd. 220 yard uphill with the pin tucked about 10’ past the bunker. Almost impossible to keep it close. I hit a perfect 5 wood that landed right at the crest of the bunker on the fringe. The bottom of the stick was blind from where I was standing. Guy in our group said he thinks it went in. Go up to green and there’s no ball on it, and then see it sitting in the cup. This is probably at one of the toughest par 3’s in Arkansas too, and has less than 10 people who have an ace there in the courses history.

The next week the pin was moved to the same location and it was windy as hell. I hit a 3 wood and I hit the stick. Still can’t see the ball and think I may have done it again. Get up to the green and I end up 30’ right. I then proceed to 3 putt for bogey.

    Disclaimer- I suck at golf.

No aces but I’ve holed out two separate times from the fairway on the first hole of an annual buddy trip. Holed out on #7 at mid pines in front of 3 other groups last time I was there. That is probably my favorite.

I think they should stop shouting about banning players and just scoff at it as an exhibition and not championship golf. That seems to resonate more with fans and the players themselves.

Like if Russia Cuba and Venezuela banded together to create a baseball league and paid a bunch of money to players to play there instead of MLB, there is no legacy of greatness beating a bunch of shit competition. They could even steal a bunch of Manfred's horrible ideas like 7 inning games.

When your headliners are Danny Willett, Tom Hoge, and Cole Hammer for a fully exempt event that started like four years ago, I think the PGA Tour has its answer on what to do with some of these mid-level tournaments and if they really need like 46 events a year

I played the South course at LA Country Club a few years ago. Hit one to 18" on the par 3 9th that just rolled past the cup, then hit one to 12" on the par 3 12th. Both holes were roughly 170 to center. Closest I've ever come.

Best field this week is probably the Irish Open. Same as next week with the Scottish being really strong.

Charles Howell is like 180 in OWGR and 65 in Data Golf's rankings and is the Data Golf pre tournament favorite. Ouch.

About as bad as a non-opposite field can get

It kind of is an opposite field event. Lot of guys traveling this week to play in Scottland next week. Plus a handful of guys playing the Irish Open.

feels like end of season is going to have a promotion/relegation feel between all these Tour spots on the line. At least more of a reason to tune in.

Still big component missing to this is a WGC renovation. Or just scrapping it all together. Just have the current ones become co-sanctioned big money events, then go with something bold (even Teams concept) where they teased those 3 Fall International events.
