I mean that's a lot of late in the draft picks. I don't think that record is quite as damning as it's presented to be
I wouldn’t call him a crypto bro and honestly it was Donnie who was the drafter and if it isnt an Euro he was worthless at it and hated it with a passion so we traded down or out of the draft 99% of the time
I thought Josh Howard was gonna be a problem for a minute...and then he couldn't quit the weed drugs.
Would assume he’s the lead initiator and obviously Jokic but is Bones gonna start at theoretical Pg? bones? Murray KCP Gordon Joker west is gonna be fun next year
Murray KCP MPJ Gordon Jokic Is maybe as close to an ideal starting 5 as the current Nuggets can get. Murray-MPJ-Jokic is a top offense by itself then good guard and forward defenders with them. Just need MPJ to stay on the court which is a coin flip at best.
As a Blazers fans, I can safely say trading with Washington is a good thing Traded Duckworth to Wash for Harvey Grant Traded Grant back to Wash for Rasheed Wallace
He was a nice player for us for about 3 years and then it just seemed to fall off a cliff after 07 I think it was.
Positive spin is this gives them access to the full MLE heading into FA. We'll see if they use it (I am very doubtful)
The Jazz weren’t fortunate to be around early enough to take advantage of the milk man and plumber era of the NBA
That's a good move for Nuggs for exactly the reason Lowe said, Gordon and KCP in proper roles not leading your offense actually gives them a chance on D.
Lot of national guys skewering Denver for this move and I don't really get it. Monte is probably better than KCP in a vacuum but KCP has a rarer and more valuable skillset that Denver desperately needed. You have to give up something of value to get something of value. Plus Denver creates more minutes for Bones which is more volatile but also has way higher upside than Monte. And if it doesn't work there's a million serviceable backup veteran PGs out there.
In 95/96, the Bullets had Sheed, Webber, and Juwan Howard all on their frontline at 22 years old or younger. How does a GM want to blow up that?
man, i have very vivid memories of when we traded for Sheed. this was before i would've known where to go on the internet (think we may have had AOL at the time) so we had sports radio on in the basement as they teased a trade with the Bullets. i remember them going to commercial before they announced the names so we were thinking it'd be Webber, who was obviously the biggest name.
They were ridiculously loaded in the front court (Sheed, C-Webb, Juwan, Muresan, and McIlvaine...iirc) and those 3 essentially all played the same position. Webber was nursing a shoulder injury at the time so Sheed got his minutes but once C-Webb got healthy Sheed was expendable especially since we're talking about Sheed and he clashed with mgmt. I joked earlier about Portland acquiring H. Grant and then sending him back a couple years later for Sheed but the Bullets also got Rod Strickland in that deal and that made their roster a lot more balanced...especially with what they were trotting out there at the G positions
As a #1 pick it's kinda crazy how many times Chris Webber got traded Drafted by Orlando traded to Golden State for Penny & 3 1sts Golden State traded him to Washington for Gugliotta & 3 1sts Washington traded him to Sacremento for Mitch Richmond and Otis Thorpe Sacramento traded him to Philadelphia for Kenny Thomas, Brian Skinner, & Corliss Williamson
