Due to sheer incompetence Trump: 1. failed to get his first Muslim ban through with a majority conservative SC 2. failed to get a citizen question approved for the 2020 census with the same court 3. failed to rescind protection for dreamers 4. missed a number of administrative deadlines Trump was as ineffective when it came to policy as any president in recent history, and unlike Obama and Biden, his ineffectiveness wasn’t due to congressional push back, but instead, a majority conservative Supreme Court basically ruling that his admin either failed to go through the proper administrative procedures or that they just flatly didn’t believe the admin’s rationale (citizen question on census). He was a complete shit show in affectations any legislative change. while I agree that desantis is an empty suit, I doubt he and his potential admin would be anywhere near as incompetent and they would stick to party orthodoxy, unlike trump.

Trump definitely tells stories, maybe not funny ones, but man does he tell stories. The Fox News base itself will never be enough to elect a candidate nationally. It's like running a half-back pass, the half-back needs a decent arm and the defense has to be caught napping. We were there. We aren't really anymore. Trying to run it again, especially with a different candidate, isn't going to work. Also, Georgia politics is not national politics and Brian Kemp is not Donald Trump. Degrees of badness are a thing and useful for evaluation of voter preferences, generally. That voter might be able to stomach three day old sushi, but dumpster diving for salmon carcass might make him throw up.
