It’s nice to see AJ throw fastball and cutter. He used to throw that slider that would sometimes hang and caused him a lot of trouble during that 2019 campaign. I’m not sure I’ve seen it much if at all this season.
Seeing that Olson is starting to heat up, I took a look at some of his career stats: Currently, he has an OBP of .350 (right around his career avg) and SLG of .481 which is good for an OPS of .831. Career Pre-All Star Break: .338 .494 .832 Career Post-All Star Break: .363 .528 .891 Seems like he always starts slow and then hits his stride come June. Explains that rough COVID year outlier too. Only playing 60 games never allowed him to get ramped up.
Be pretty cool if known shit player, Austin Riley, could stop being a little bitch and get a hit tonight.
Side note— Yordan and Peña collided in the OF and Alvarez left on a cart, though he was sitting up and seemed alright? I was watching at work on mute, so idk how serious it was. They both left the game, I think
Tommy Edman is so confusing to me. Last I checked he was leading the NL in bWar. I know he's supposedly having a great season defensively, but his offensive numbers are so average it doesn't make sense.
Probably. I won't pretend I understand how WAR works, but even with those steals and great defense, I don't see how a .745 OPS guy is at 4.3 bWAR in June.
The Cubs once paid Jason Heyward 1 billion dollars based on good corner outfield flay and elite base running.
I still have zero sympathy for Freddie. He was warned about this beforehand and still chose to play the game. Sometimes you get burned.
I get that but if you’re trying to get the most money out of the Braves, which is normal, you’d be holding out for the best offer. Not even receiving the best, last offer is incredibly messed up, if true.
Yeah that's super fucked. I actually legit feel bad for him now. He clearly wishes he was still in Atlanta, and his agent basically took that from him.
However, the timing still seems sus howd he just find out about that offer? Did he think the early media reports were bullshit?
I was never full team Frauddie. I was just kind of whatever about it. If his agent legit kept an offer from him that he would've accepted to stay with the team he wanted to be with, I feel bad for the guy.
The whole being an agent and not a lawyer (and subject to professional ethics rules) is how Jimmy Sexton became a "super agent."
