This will definitely be the biggest test of ND’s “fuck the B1G forever” stance, but I guess that started to soften with hockey.
Pretty easy to see where this all leads. The SEC/B1G will become the only two major power conferences, they’ll eventually unify into a combined league, and CFB will officially be a minor league version of the NFL.
i remember when you used to be a proper and distinguished troll arkansas never winning anything has just worn you down and it is sad to see
the year is 2048 and the sec is the only conference in college football. everybody chants for the sec, all the time, everywhere
This was my reaction too. Was always told the CA schools were a package deal. If only two were going to stick together I would have thought it would be UCLA and Cal, since they are part of the same university system, as far as I’m aware. on the bright side, Looking forward to UCLA v RU games in LA with you bruv
If Arkansas wasn’t already in the sec we would be well and truly fucked I seriously don’t see why the B1G or the SEC would want North Carolina the only school that would move the needle for the sec that isn’t in the B1G is notre dame
4 top 50 tv markets that would suddenly be in the footprint thus able to charge more per customer and good academics
Tell that to my neighbor. Cal alum whose irate rn. Admittedly tho, both da bases are generally too smart for football
There’s usually a different carriage rate for local schools vs not. That’s legitimately the only reason Rutgers is in the Big
I know they’re name schools but every school you add has to pay for itself Miami has no fans and is broke, Florida state adds nothing when you have Florida, and the sec already has South Carolina and that will cover both Carolina states I don’t see the sec expanding based off this move
the LA schools are tied at the hip. It helps that we are good in our respective sports so it’s not like one is carrying the other in both. UCLA sighing with Jordan imo also helps to show we bring something to the table.
Name schools matter for matchups and eyeballs. That’s the only reason we’re in the B1G and why we’ve played OSU for like 9 goddamn years in a row
I still don’t think the fighting Maine State Live belong in conference but you gotta take ‘em before the SEC gobbles them up.
Charlotte (24), Raleigh-Durham (27), Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville-Anderson (36), and Greensboro-High Point- Winston-Salem (46) would all be considered in the conference footprint and therefore would be able to charge at a higher rate
