I wonder if the lil bros of all the schools moving (Oregon St, Washington St, Cal, Stanford) all head to the Big 12 along with Utah and poor Colorado.
that sort of has to happen right? That or the big ole B1G Pac merger in the form of a B1G takeover where just some of the deadweight is carved away. Annual championship game in the rose bowl to keep that concept alive and playoff extension to follow
This seems like a good guy to follow on all of the realignment. He mentioned USC/B1G talking back in March, never heard of him before though. He has a source in high places somewhere
This dude knows someone high up at the TV networks. He's a big Gopher fan and posts on our 247 board all the time. His latest news is that the B1G is taking a few day pause to let ND decide what to do. If ND wants to join in the next week, then they will move to the next targets to get to 20. I just don't know who those other targets would be, but expect it would be some combo of Stanford, Oregon, Washington, UNC, UVA.
Woah woah woah. Get that pacific time shit out of here. Need to nip this in the bud. All times eastern, always.
He's just posting in B1G Standard Time already when we're playing 3 games a year on the coast and in the B1G conference title game vs Clemson in SoFi in LA in 4 years
Xoxo would also be happy to watch ND’s insistence of football independence result in your program becoming irrelevant once it’s a 2 conference system. Or, you guys could head to the SEC and get your asses handed to you 4-5 times a year. Either would be fine.
I mean, we were only relevant for two years, 1869- the year we invented the sport, and 2006. So irrelevance for us is kinda the default setting. That said, if ND doesn’t join either the B1G or SEC, we’ll be pulling in more tv money than you folks. Irrelevant and rich > was relevant and not rich
i think this was misplayed by the staff...he's wanted WR for a long long time and sometimes you just have to let them be Ark has been recruiting him as a WR from day 1 and that's probably why they win his recruitment
which teams in the sec would beat nd 4-5 times a year, nd would play bama or Georgia only once a year pal.
You’re already getting way more money from tv than us, and that is why we’ll inevitably make the change. And finally the big will have a team that NY watches
It would be incredibly irresponsible and shortsighted to not join one of the two mega conferences, and quickly. The money equation is just too big of a factor at this point.
It is ironic he wants to go to a school to play WR where they run the ball almost twice as much as they throw
your posts read like the nerdy kid who’s big brother is home from college so now he’s far too confident
Assuming independence is off the table (which we can all agree it seems to be) I think it’s the majority, but not vast, would say big10. It makes more sense geographically, we have two of our historical rivals (usc and Purdue, fuck Michigan) in the league and it gives is access still to anywhere from NY to LA. That said, I’d be open to sec and to keep that southern pipeline going. But I don’t think it fits our profile athletically or academically, so big10 is the natural fit
That’s not true. But if you’re losing to Brian kelly, you’re not winning anything anyway and you’ve got deeper issues
I think it makes more sense in two regards… - More of the large metro areas and TV markets seem to be in B1G country at this point. Having our alumni base in LA, Silicon Valley, NYC, and Chicago means B1G schedules makes it easier to stay close to big money donors. - We’re a sanctimonious bunch who constantly tries to stay above the fray (or at least claims they do) and claim more high ground when it comes to academics, NIL, etc. ND getting thrown into the SEC would be a really funky culture fit.
