I stayed at home with my at the time 3 month old and literally couldnt get anything done. While at the hospital I had a whole new respect for single mothers. Shit is so hard. 4 month old is now in the 90th percentile for height, 25 3/4in tall.
My older one lost a tooth yesterday. The tooth fairy fell asleep early and forgot to come. My kid is super confused right now.
Mine did that. We just put the money under a pillow of another bed and told him we thought the tooth fairy just got confused and scared of the dog.
We never let our kid watch screens but have a four our flight this afternoon and im prepared for a lot of screen time. Apparently headphones are great too.
What do you guys have your toddlers sleep in when in a hotel? Going on a week vacation, and he's basically outgrown his pack n play. Been looking at various options, but wondering if you've had success with anything?
We have a cot that packs up small. I wouldn’t use it while flying but it was good for packing in a car.
I’m sure you’ll be fine. The Hawaii flight was just a beast, and he was totally cool up until he couldn’t fall asleep during his usual nap time. Tablet and headphones work wonders. We have all of his favorite Blippi episodes downloaded and a few games. Also had a ton of snacks, and my wife even wrapped a couple presents. And to be fair, outside of a takeoff meltdown due to the flight attendant making us seatbelt him in instead of letting my wife hold him, he was an angel on the way home because he was actually able to fall asleep. I’m just scarred from the first
Levi was on 4 flights the past 2 weeks. My wife bought one of these and filled it with snacks/cookies/candy. It came in clutch. If he started to get antsy, we got it out of the backpack and let him pick a handful to set on the fold down tray and eat.
if they have outgrown a pack n play i would probably but them in the bed with pillows tucked under the covers on either side to prevent them from falling off. we are staying in a hotel for a long weekend in a few weeks. 2 large queens with a balcony. baby will go in the snoo and 5 and 3 year old will share the queen. planning on getting baby down first, then letting toddlers watch a movie before bed (a rare treat) and me and the wife drink on the balcony until they fall asleep. what could possibly go wrong

About a week away from losing our independence but my wife is now freaking out because she changed her last name to mine recently and her work has to update her information with her insurance. Will my wife changing her last name interfere with her short term disability and other coverages?
Hotel with toddler usually he sleeps in the main bed with my wife and Ill sleep on the pullout. As far as a kid in a pack and play the slumber pod is the shit. Staying with family, hotels, etc never worry about darkness, quiet, etc. Has a spot for the camera, a fan, and white noise. Will use it in the same room as us and don’t need to worry at all about waking him. Can be a little annoying setting up but other than that can’t recommend it enough.
might mean you have to make an extra phone call some extra paperwork or something to insurance, but should work out. I transposed a number in the date my son was born on our insurance and had to jump through a few hoops. you might get a few bills from the hospital at full cost, but usually you can ask they re-process because your insurance changed or some the insurance company will reach out to them to handle.
Going on a 9 day road trip starting tomorrow with our 5 year old. I think 3 Airbnbs and 3 hotels, we'll see if I'm alive at the end of it.
A slumber pod goes around and over a standard pack and play. So I am guessing yes. Also, getting the one with he fan is pretty critical. That thing is like a chamber.
So my son, is 2.5. We are going through some sleep issues quirks. He cries a lot when leave the room which is natural, but before he sleeps. He opens every drawer in his room takes all his socks and swimming stuff out and puts in his bed. Then grabs his shoes and two pair of sweatpants puts them in his bed. Then he will lay down with all that clutter and fall asleep.
My 4 year old daughter said she peed her pants while playing baseball in our backyard. Nothing was visibly wet and she tends to say this when she really has to go and maybe let a drop out but I can never tell. Anyway, I told her to check in with her mom on our patio so we could proceed in our game. She walked over to my wife and pulled her pants down and peed on the patio. No real harm so I got a laugh out if it.
4 month old girl is in the 90th percentile for height. Excited to continue to track. She was in the 97th percentile at 2 months, so she’s losing ground.
This is how my three year old sleeps sometimes. The rest of her bed out of frame has a ton of dolls and stuffed animals and other toys. I don’t understand.
Mine is currently in bed with a big ass RC Gravedigger monster truck, two hot wheels monster trucks, a transformer, a plastic t-rex, an excavator, a bulldozer, and his teddy. Literally cuddles big ass plastic toys. I don’t understand at all, but I figure if it helps him sleep, who am I to judge
Joined the club Thursday. Exhausted but best thing ever. Hopefully heading home today but daughter is at the higher risk for jaundice. So see how she is trending. Either way probably using a light for a bit.
My son found Blippi all on his own. Now it's one of his favorite shoes. Trash Truck episode is his favorite. He's now obsessed with trash trucks. This morning as I'm hoping qe can watching some YouTube channels I enjoy...well that caused a tantrum and now we're watching YouTube videos of trash trucks collecting trash on the bug TV. He just ooohhhs and ahhhhs. Then says "bye bye trash truck" everytime it leaves the screen
Edit....he's now gone and gotten his tablet to watch Blippi trash truck along with the TV playing real.lige trash trucks on repeat
Last Saturday. On vacation at a rental house with 16 in-laws. I was asleep. They had all gathered poolside for a closing ceremony of sorts. Wife gets this: Someone had been casing the place and ran through grabbing every backpack they could find once the group left the house. She thought it was me checking on him and didn’t realize what it actually was until all the missing stuff was discovered like 30 min later. Fortunately, wasn’t the baby-napping for ransom type
Sad news, on ear infection #6. Great news is we're going to an ENT next week or week after for tubes.
Not a dad specific post, but dad adjacent… I’m really fucking out of shape and need to even it out a little bit. I put together simple HIIT workouts for myself that last 30-45 minutes. Did it for 6-7 months last year but got burnt out and stopped. For the gym rats, it’s a 5 out of 10 difficulty; for me, it’s a 10 out of 10. I exercised today for the first time since December. I do it on my back deck to really suffer (90* and 48% humidity Where Eagles Dare). I’m grunting and groaning through my 30 minutes when I hear a panicked voice from around the corner. “jbr jbr jbr are you ok? Do you need an ambulance?” My 75 year old next door neighbor thought I was in trouble because I was making such terrible sounds. “I wasn’t sure what I was hearing, but it didn’t sound good. Once or twice would be ok. You just kept going so I thought you were in bad pain and needed someone to help.” Spoiler
70% humidity and 84° here toughen up cupcake. In seriousness mixing out of shape getting back into exercise and hot weather is a bad combo.
