Funny you say that, because I had some dude flip the fuck out on me this morning at the corner of Green Valley and Crosshaven. I was trying to take a right onto Crosshaven, but they had it momentarily blocked for construction. I could go straight on Green Valley for a detour, but it generally takes as long as just waiting on the construction crew to tell you to go. This has been a daily routine for me for months without really any issue. Today, this old dude got right up on my bumper and laid on the horn for a solid 5 seconds and then whipped around me, almost hitting the woman working on the construction crew holding the stop sign. It was bizarre.
One positive spin out of last night's tragedy is we can now officially retire the term "boomer potluck".
Ugh. That's horrible and so scary. My wife's BFF sends her kid to daycare at that church and they're understandably freaked out.
https://actionparkalliance.com/locations/city-walk-skatepark-birmingham-al/ New skatepark just opened today. Pretty cool to see Birmingham actually do something like this. Action Park alliance has 4 places in Cali, one in TX and now one here.
Every time I drive by (like 10 years now) I'm in a hurry. Need to stop. The hole in the wall joints like that were where it was at when I lived in Texas. Thanks for the tip on ordering, Tegg.
I am going to lose my fucking mind if it doesn’t rain. I cannot do anymore of these 9pm in the yard with a hose parties.
I’ve waited as long as possible. Tomatoes aren’t perfect yet by any means, but I’m going full on summer BLT mode tonight. Heirlooms sliced with salt & pepper Sunbeam Conecuh bacon Iceberg Duke’s LFG
Not sure yet, but it will be more egregious than the parking violations in front of the 5th Ave N Chick Fil A
It rained yesterday on my glorious plants Also Frothy Monkey is good but it looks like it’s going to be a minute before they figure the service end out.
frothy monkey is such a bad name that it may be hard for me to look past but i will probs end up giving it a go at some point
am meeting a couple people at soho social for lunch today. def not my choice and have never eaten there--is this gonna be as aggressively average as i'm anticipating?
it's a pretty cool spot. perfectly fine for lunch. Ideal spot for after work beers if you're in the area.
i just don't get over to homewood much for lunch and am being kind of a baby about wasting a good chance to get johnny's or sam's or something. preciate the intel tho
Apologies if I've asked this before, but anyone got a rec on a kitchen appliance repair place? Specifically, my fridge/freezer defrost seems all messed up. TIA.
This guy literally fixed my freezer this morning and taught me how to do it himself. He wasn't cheap but he responds quickly and has fixed everything I have ever used him for. https://steelcityappliancerepair.com/
Awesome. Ideally, that's exactly what I need. I'm fairly handy, but every time I've got to go around for hours with a multimeter, I want to slit my wrists. Happy to pay someone to do it once. UPDATE: thanks, Snakes guy got back to me right away. Called and talked for about 5m to try and pre-diagnose. I always appreciate that sort of thing. Saves everybody money/time.
I hate to say it, but I've had very mixed meals there. Like, about 50/50. The folks I recommend to go (who generally have more distinguished tastes than me) are same. The tomato salad is always great; I remember the seafood all being cooked perfectly, but just not anything insane to me.
Going to see one of the worst bands of all time, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, tonight. First concert since COVID I think
