Since geography doesn’t matter, Oregon would be neat. It would suck for their fans but that isn’t my problem.
Virginia feels like a big ten school, VT feels like a better fit for us. If we could get UNC and VT, and then two western schools that’d be cool imo
When I played the Virginian golf course, there is this several million dollar home on the front nine with this giant 40ish yard hedge of bushes in the VT logo. If that isn’t enough to get them in the SEC, our system is clearly broken beyond repair
Yall need to heighten your standards if we are out seeking Va Tech Tennessee is enough hillbilly. Go look at the crowd shots when those two played at Bristol. It looked like 1/6.
I mean the 2 schools from their states that have kinda always been the obvious cultural fit are NC State and Va Tech. I imagine UNC scoffs at the SEC as a whole academically and UVA is too much of the wine and cheese crowd. With that being said obviously UNC would be the bigger get.
I mean sure but if you want a school from North Carolina not named UNC that's what you get. Dave Doeren is a big enough asshole to provide entertainment and they've got a good baseball program.
I did a project in Blacksburg in 2014. I’d compare their base to UTK but much poorer. We don’t need VT
NC State is basically TAMU a big enough state school that has enough resources to do well but trips on their own dick on the way to success or chokes up when they finally got there this is the school that had its best baseball team in years get eliminated because they got COVID
Eh.... VT isn't anywhere as close to a southern school like Tenn. Maybe the location of Bristol was the issue. But VT draws a lot more for the NE and the state as a whole is vastly less conservative than Tenn. Richmond is the only large city with any southern feel. VT feels much more like a B1G student body than anything in the SEC. I've never had the same feelings being there vs the southern culture at any SEC school
#Alabama Crimson Tide haven’t been able to get the team thread to load on mobile for a couple days. Anyone else?
This is like the third or fourth one of these lists I’ve seen with Carolina ranked highly in terms of atmosphere. I’ve been multiple times, and it’s not intimidating at all. They kicked our asses last year, and the place was still dead.
You guys have your red glowing lights for intimidation purposes. Spoiler We've also installed this offseason
We have a huge renovation planned in the coming years that’s going to “modernize” the Swamp with better concessions, wider concourses, better seating, etc. It’s also going to reduce total capacity. I hope my seats aren’t some of those that are moved.
Same here. Think our official capacity is under 80k now which sucks, even though we could still hold it with standing room
I've been to Columbia several times and games all over the country. The 2012 USC night game was the best atmosphere I've ever been to for a college game. I think it's so hot before the sun goes down that it really drains the atmosphere for day games.
First few day games of the season are so fucking hot in most of the SEC. No idea how those guys do it in full pads
I was at the UF game last year and Boo MFer! is right, we whipped that ass in front of an empty upper deck. Muschamp and television had fans dropping tickets left and right, then COVID came. Oh and all our rivals are dominant.
Weird. I’ve been to day games, night games, hot games, rainy games in Columbia. It’s all kind of meh. The towel waiving is pretty cool, but the crowing gets old.
I know '13 was a "lit" atmosphere vs the Gators. Trying to remember any other recent games. Loudest WB ever got was '01 vs #3 Florida. Noise pinnacle was right around 10:00 to go in first quarter.
Columbia also home to the most laid back atmosphere I've ever been to. The time we played on a Sunday after the hurricane came through and there was like maybe 15k people there.
No offense to the Miami posters, but it would be fucking hilarious if Miami got left out of the big boy conferences after Ruiz decided to throw around all of his Monopoly money to buy a recruiting class.
I mean the guy who’s reporting this. No one else is saying anything about this let alone confirming it
If, big if, that were true then what horrible choices in Clemson and FSU when there are other far more attractive options
