I have no children. I am watching a 4 year old until Saturday evening. It's been half a day and I want to take a nap.
I just watched a lady rip the driver's window out of a Ford Expedition in downtown Portland like the incredible hulk. Drugs are cool
Despite what my internet persona may be, Im very responsible irl. Spoiler My cousin's family was at the Highland Park parade. He is stuck in Germany for work and is having all kinds of trouble getting back. Finally was able to get back on Saturday. His wife ruptured her achilles running away, pushing the stroller. Im here to help out until my cousin gets back. Also Spoiler We are not very close. We text occasionally but I havent seen them since before the pandemic. The girl was just baby. They are family and Im happy to help, but it feels kind of weird that Im either the first person they asked or they couldnt find anyone else and Im their last resort. They're pretty cool people, so it's not like they're social outcasts or anything. Does that line of thinking make me an asshole?
No, it's kinda weird. But you were definitely their last resort. Also, you have access you approximately 12 hours of Bluey on Disney+ that you should start taking advantage of. You're welcome.
My two biggest take aways so far is 1. That show is surprisingly good. 2. PB& J's are for babies, and Im a huge moron for not knowing that !
TBH I debated sharing it because I dont want to make a huge deal about. Just more of a - I get you parents. Kids are hard post.
I’ve frequented the Loveland bike trail a bunch. Even took vacation days in the past to ride it by myself because I have no friends. The monkey bar is my next stop if I can go again. Buck,Esq knows, there used to be a smoking monkey that was caged there. https://themonkeybarandgrille.com/
Late 1970’s to 1987, until they were prosecuted by the state for animal cruelty. https://themonkeybarandgrille.com/sam-the-chimp
Love the monkey bar. Have you tried the brewery in the gun powder factory? Looks nice from the outside but still haven’t stopped in.
I haven’t been there because it’s a former Superfund Site. It’s about 10-15 miles up river, but communities down river we’re finding perchlorate in their water. Perchlorate was used in tracer bullets in WWII. USEPA ordered DuPont to clean the site from 2012-2015. They say it’s clean now, but I’m not inclined to eat or drink there. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peters_Cartridge_Company
Don’t act like you’ve never drank beer with a chain smoking chimpanzee at a Superfund site in Michigan.
Nope. My in-laws live in Loveland so I’m only there 5/6 times a year. I’ll be there this weekend though!
My first car was my dad's hand me down Expedition. It was a 97 and I started driving it in 06 and drove it until 2014. The final straw was on a cold, snowy winter day the windows were frozen and of course my dumbass tried to roll down the window and the entire window came off the track and slid completely down inside the door. Had to call my dad and bring me a trash bag so I could drive down the highway home about 30 minutes away from my office.
My gf is a PA at a knee and shoulder clinic here and she had a new patient today dude had a swastika tattoo on his knee and she refused to help him he started freaking out and acting like a bitch so the security guy came in and knocked him out clean with one punch when he tried to swing at him he got arrested too pussy
Damn, and good on her Is it in a hospital or a big medical complex type thing? I'm trying to picture where I've ever seen security guards at medical clinics
It’s basically a strip mall with some retail/medical clinics. They have security guards for the entire strip mall and they called the security and the cops when he started freaking out. Security got there first
My previous medical practice had a guy come in yesterday who submitted cold urine for his drug test then started hurling racial sluts, got kicked out of the building, then called back threatening to kill everyone in the building, so they went on lockdown and will have police on-site until they get him in jail.
Has anyone on here ever actually been selected as a juror on an interesting case? I’ve been called once but never got out of the waiting room
Been on 2 juries so far. The first time I remember going in thinking this was gonna be like a Grisham book and we were gonna take down Big Tobacco or something lol. Turned out to be a parole violation. 2nd trial I did was a hit & run
We had a kid come in with a broken leg that had swastika tattoos all over, he even drew them on his gown. We operated on him a couple times and every time he came to us he had more swastikas drawn on him. The nurses on the floor eventually had to confiscate heroin from him that was smuggled in via a stuffed animal. He left the hospital AMA with an X-fix still on his leg. He army crawled (just like the Rick James Chappelle skit) out of the hospital screaming obscenities and Hate Speech until the staff finally put him in an old wheelchair and he wheeled himself out the door to the bus stop…with the X-fix still on
I don't know what thread is a better fit, but man a 7 year college career w/o transferring is impressive. one year is surely the covid waiver. He was still in HS when Mad Max Fury Road came out, and just exhausted his eligibility last month. https://uwbadgers.com/sports/mens-track-and-field/roster/olin-hacker/10183
I sat on a DUI case where a guy made it all the way home and was turning into his driveway when a drunk rear ended him doing 80 in a 45. The rear end driver pled guilty to a DUI. The guy turning into his driveway refused to take a breathalyzer. The state patrol had video of him walking straight lines, saying his ABCs, and other tests. He looked in decent shape, but I thought he had a few. There were two guys on the jury who said they wouldn’t convict him, no matter what. One lady said he made it home and she didn’t care. The remaining jurors voted to acquit because they hated the cop. She was a female cop who acted like a complete asshole on the video and at trial. Unanimous acquittal.
I was on a pool that was a white cop shooting a 15 black kid in Little Rock. I messed up and didn't sign in when getting to the court house. I kinda wanted to be on that one though.
