I could see it being good. I could not see myself tiring of the other things on the menu to find out.
Also Eathan Edwards , https://knifedallas.com/ for modern American steakhouse. The chef’s dry-aged meat is sought out from literally around the world.
I prefer pappas steakhouse for the insanely great wine list. Gotten way below current market price on some unicorns recently. (Rayas, monfortino, soldera, Selosse, Ulysse Collin) In a shit part of town though. Close to the strip clubs. Uchi is probably my favorite restaurant near downtown. Need a reservation. Homewood/Gemma/Sachet are very good as well. Near park cities area. Lucia near the hipster/gentrified Bishop arts area. They recently expanded so May be easier to get a resy. Sad Boulevardier closed recently. have heard nice things about the Charles, but haven’t been.
Nonna is my favorite in dallas. Also if you're bringing the lady friend, rise for lunch wouldn't be a bad idea. It's nothing amazing, but it's a decent experience.
The one time I went to knife I had just lost my job and didn’t want to spend any money so I ate a fucking $25 burger and free bread
I have never recovered from Hurtado taking nachos off the special menu. Best ever and they won’t even make them on request anymore. also happy to hear that it’s still fantastic. I haven’t been in a couple of months but I’ve been worried with the opening of the Little Elm location plus their presence at GLF that they’d lose a step
They had a burger on special today that looked great but I figured since it was my first trip I’d stick to the basics
They did post this on their Facebook page several days back so maybe you’ll have to get over to Little Elm for your nacho kick BayouMafia
Do you guys adjust your thermostat up on super hot days? I'm wondering if it's counterproductive to keep it at 72 when it can't even come close to hitting that, or if that's a meaningless step.
As others have said, this is the route. I have an ecobee and on the ecobee Reddit, those who enroll in the Ecobee+ service and are new, end up asking why the AC is running at 8 am when the house is colder than the set temp. For example the temp is set at 76 and it’s cooling to 72 early in the morning. It’s usually bc the power companies have surplus energy during low demand times and the device is cooling it below the set temp so it can stop running as more demand comes online. When my downstairs AC went out recently, I would run my upstairs unit to get the house as cold as possible so when it got hot during the day; it could somehow the house from getting too hot.
We set a new record high..low today of 80. I’ve never goddamn heard of that, that’s a thing? Fuck us.
This is going to be a dreadful summer. If my kids were older, I'd just go rent an off grid cabin on a mountain somewhere
Next week I have family visiting from up north, I’ve tried to prepare them (after attempting to talk them out of coming) but I don’t think they understand what they’re walking into. Why we aren’t going up there is beyond me, it was like a high of 79 the other day where they are and I tried to tell my sister she will not see that temperature at any point during her time here.
I counted 10 different grass fires on my Twitter feed, and a friend had video of a fireworks show on her Instagram story where you could see a fire breaking out in the grass on the other side of the river. Turns out she was at Panther Island where sure enough Ft Worth had to cancel their huge show due to fire. stellar work all around team
