Figures that when I start betting against Rickie he starts being good again, no one man should have all this power
The golf/legal experts on Twitter arguing about antitrust and whatever else are amazing. Just hilarious shitheads repeating stuff they read out of Greg Norman's mouth and inventing legal conclusions.
I got my first career ace yesterday. 88 yard Par 3. Don’t any of you dare throw smoke at it not counting with it being under 100 yards. Scorecard wise my club is one of the Top 5-10 hardest courses in Colorado.
How easy is it to regrip a club? I’ve never done it because it’s always been a Christmas gift for me but I’ve got a few that need replaced. I’m handy, build guitars, can soldier, etc
Pretty easy, just takes some time to do them all. Assuming you’re not wanting to use an air compressor, get a hook blade to cut the grip off, then the most tedious part is removing the old tape so as to not add thickness to the new grip. Put on the new tape, then cover it with grip solvent and the new one will slide right on. I slide it on with the club head on the ground and against the wall to hold it steady. You can never use too much solvent, but you can use too little, so I’m very generous when I’m coating the tape with it
I mean it might be an exaggerated take, but I think we can all get on board with being absolutely fucking exhausted by commercials and marketing in [insert sporting event]
Golfing tomorrow. Interested to see how it compares to the last time I went where it seemed like I completely forgot how to play.
Been a while since I've been itt but based on the thread title I'm supposed to admit that I suck at golf and somehow made an ace years ago. I thank God every day that my Dad was there because, while he loves me, there is no way he would have believed me. At a course in Charleston SC called Shadowmoss with my Dad, a buddy (Wayne, who is now a scratch golfer), and his Dad. Hit a solid shot, saw it bounce, held the pose, saw the flag stick shimmy, thought it might be in (hole was on a downslope on the back of the green so couldn't see), dropped the club, and ran the entire hole, to find the ball in the hole. Was amazing. Haven't been close since... because, again, I'm actually not good at this sport. But I still love it.
Congrats. I'm ok with you counting it as an ace but if it were me I'd feel like a scumbag if I didn't preface it with the hole yardage any time it was brought up. Jmo. Fwiw. Ymmv.
Golf galaxy (and I’m sure other golf stores) sell a tape that you don’t have to cut it yourself. The steps are: Cut off old grip (hardest part) Put new tape on Pour the solution on the tape (also sold at golf galaxy) Slide new grip on If you can build a guitar you can regrip a golf club.
Sure but you think the players that left for millions of dollars gave a single fuck about the number of commercials? They aren't even on TV anymore.
I'm sure Brooks and Dj got together and said look, we can't play on a tour that shows so few shots between commercials.
I used to regrip clubs for people in high school and got really good (fast) at it. It would probably take me hours now.
I just witnessed the greatest shot of my life today! An Albatross from 240 yards out. My brother-n-law and I played a 2 man scramble and Stonebridge Golf Course in Ann Arbor. We played my drive and we were sitting 240 yards out on a long par 5. He stepped up and hit a low draw that looked to be a good shot close to the green. We got up to the green looking for his ball in the front bunkers and past the green in the woods. We could not find his ball . . . . We were about to hit my ball as our 3rd shot, when the other 2some we were playing with looked into the hole and saw his ball. Wow, what a shot, a 240 hole out into a protected green on hole 17. We chalked up a 2 on a par 5. This shot won us a Skin! Congrats to my brother-n-law on the best shot I have ever seen!
Driving was pretty darn good today, every iron was pulled. Chipping left me with too long of putts, probably averaged 2.5 putts per hole. Golf is hard.
Played peppers today. One guy on the other team had 6 birdies and shot a career low 73 (he’s an 8). My partner and I had zero. Needless to say we got waxed and lost 120 points on the day.
I don't believe it for a second. Rooting for him to make the cut and have a decent showing. Zero faith that he'll contend.
Just effortlessly tossed an empty into my recycling can 15ft+ away while standing up and announcing I needed another to my wife. Wife challenged me to do it again. Missed like 4 in a row with the added pressure and having to think about it. Feel like there’s a golf connection here
There are about 50 people - mostly media members - following his and JTs practice rounds together. It would be pretty widely reported if he shot 63.
