You are right. I think I am confusing transfer deadline day, and because Levy traditionally wait until the last second my mind barely counted what happened before.
The allegation phase is tough, admittedly, but it isn’t the best look. Amazon continues to scramble to complete their video editing.
Kante didn’t strike me as an anti-vaxxer, his stock has really fallen in the last year Curious if we have any or just a rapist
Seems like the super religious aspect is the most likely culprit and it really fucking sucked to hear about his "stance". As he's universally likeable I'd be pretty scared to hear his thoughts on gay people and whatnot.
Any “top 6” team think they’ve strengthened this summer yet fucking love Jesus signing but have a glaring hole at mid now that offsets it Nunez will probably score loads of goals but Mane was great and Liverpool is old City’s best business is keeping Silva Bissouma is redundant with Hojberg. Richarlison is a good signing, don’t think the Kulesveski hot start is manageable Chelsea defense and midfield a bit of a mess currently but they wanna spend on wings Man U, lol so far but assume you’ll beat us to Lisandro Sunday night few bowls thoughts
I am a big Phillips fan and while I love Fernandinho, he’s not the same guy he used to be and this is upgrade in play but downgrade in leadership for a club that haven’t had a lot of clear leaders since Kompany left. Hopefully Ruben seizes captaincy. Haaland is an upgrade over Jesus or Sterling but how well and how quickly he fits into the system will determine if the team overall is strengthened by adding him and losing both of them. I like Álvarez but not sure how quickly we can expect contribution. Tends to take guys a year.
Word that City list for Aké replacement is: Gvardiol, Torres, Koundé, Koulibaly. Gvardiol seems the main target and most likely of the 4. Think that’s an upgrade on Aké if they make it happen. Then there’s Cucurella. But those aren’t done.
City is the best team in the world that just bottles champions league Kalvin Phillips is a joke signing Don’t hate me but truth, Jack Rodwell 2.0
You’re comparing a guy who had 98 total minutes in his international career, City being a lot better doesn’t make the comparison less ridiculous
He plays internationally in most conservative system imaginable, there’s dozens who can pull off that role Getting minutes over Rodri is laughable
That’s because Rodri and Fabinho are the clear top 2 DMs in the league. There’s been some talk of a shift to more of a 4231 and them getting minutes together. I think he’s also capable of playing some CM. Certainly his minutes would be a downgrade from when Rodri, Bernardo or KDB are playing but realistically how many players in the world would that not apply to? Doesn’t mean Fernandinho shouldn’t be replaced and I’m not sure what better replacement would’ve been available
You’re the one thinking he’s gonna upgrade City and you’re confirming it while being emotional Always love you
Nothing emotional about what I thought was a pretty clear thing. He is a direct replacement for Fernandinho. Do you believe that in 2022 that Fernandinho is a better player than Kalvin Phillips?
He played 14 full 90s last season across all competitions. City lost 5 and drew 2. In a season where there were 9 total losses and 8 total draws. That doesn’t seem irrelevant if they improved on that player.
Kalvin Phillips is going to play a lot. Can tell most of you only way games versus other top 6 teams.
You’re also acting like 90% of your games actually matter and you could win with me on a Friday night marauding midfield You’re that good and I kinda hate it. Fernandinho is easily top 5 City player ever but meant little to your team last year
To provide my biased opinion, we've strengthened. Thank the football gods that we don't have to strictly rely on Hojbjerg to play nearly every minute (2nd among outfield players only behind Kane). Agreed that Kulu can't keep up that rate of g+a/90 (higher than Son and Kane). If Spurs get one more CB and a RWB (maybe a creative attacking midfielder for breaking down the low block?), they begin to emulate how the top two teams lean more on squad depth (especially with the 5 subs rule) than strictly first XI to mount a season-long campaign on many fronts. Time and again, it felt like we'd (intentionally or from squad crunch or from squad shittiness) put out inadequate teams to bomb out of a competition, lessening fixture crunch. Now we can mitigate inevitable injury crises, lessen strain on individual contributors with depth, rotate but still remain competitive, etc.
He also had his brother die of a heart attack just before Covid and had a heart scare himself not long after ( and I believe his dad died pretty young too). He was also one of the last guys to start training in 2020 because he didn’t feel comfortable. Not sure if it’s related but there is some extra backstory there.
I don't see how there's any doubt Spurs have improved. It'd be funny if it didn't translate to results on the pitch, but they certainly seem threatening.
I wouldn't say Liverpool is "old." Our midfield is players over 30 in Thiago, Milner, and Henderson. Then Fabinho and Keita in their "prime," and three guys 21 and under with Jones, Elliott, and Carvalho (though know one knows exactly where he'll play). And Ox. So one of the young guys well have to step up. I personally think Liverpool and City are both going to be playing more of a 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-4 next season.
If you can't back a short king who pulls into Anfield at 16 rocking this haircut, with a Newport, TN white trash beard, and notched eyebrows, you don't love truly love the beautiful game.
Maybe paying 80m for a player who plays in a league equivalent to mls isn’t a good idea but what do I know
