Just got home from a week of vacation with no TV/phone/internet, and catching up on the race with no spoilers of what I missed. Watched Stages 8 and 9 so far today. The Jungels win and interview was just fantastic. A beautiful race through beautiful country. I really enjoyed Jungels's Liege win years ago, and it was great to see him win again. Will be binge watching the Tour all weekend catching up - life is good.

Is this a cyclists thread? Looking for helmet recommendations. I just inherited an Aventon 500. I’m looking at 10 miles or less mostly suburban bike paths to start. I’d like something comfortable, good airflow at casual/low speeds, and a high safety rating. Under probably $150-200.

Strade Bianche this morning. Mens race live now.

I decided to stop pirating and purchased GCN+... Love it so far this season. I'm done with the NBC guys. I much prefer the European coverage.

GCN is here for any that are interested: https://plus.globalcyclingnetwork.com/

I’ve subscribed to GCN+ for 3 years. They do a great job. Also, if you ever ask for help with something they respond quickly and take care of the problem. This season I’ve watched the Men’s and Women’s Strade Bianche, and am now on the Tirreno Adriatico….which Roglic is making his personal bitch.

Just finished watching Strade Bianche. I swear the last 20 kms of that race is the kind of thing that makes me not want to watch cycling.

6 person group regularly bringing the gap down around 10", and it's like each time as soon as they saw Pidcock they'd all just start fucking around again and letting it go out.

I'll never understand it and I can't wait for cycling analytics or whatever to get to a point where everyone realizes how stupid it is to do. It makes no sense.

Yeah if you work together you might bring someone else with you who's slacking off, is fresher at the finish, and beats you. But for fuck's sake, at least in that scenario you have a chance to win. But if you never bother actually catching the guy in front you definitely aren't going to fucking win.

They could've put in 2 mins more of effort, caught Pidcock, and still done all that looking around. It happens time and time again and I'll just never understand it.

I agree that it’s baffling. IMO it is one of those characteristics that give road cycling races a unique element of suspense and it enhances my enjoyment of the events.

Feels like all that tough work MVDP had to do early on really caught up with him. Pog was perfect too.

awesome seeing Powless and Jorgensen, two Americans, in the top 10. Powless rode all day without his power meter and had no clue how far it was to the next climb. Impressive stuff.

I don't know what punishment you'd go with but seems unjust that Degenkolb lost out because two Alpecin riders flubbed their tactics and went to the same side. And now one of those two is gonna win instead.

Last minute bought tickets to CWG in Houston last night and made the 2.5 he drive. He’s so good. $35 to see him feels wrong. He’s gonna blow up.

His band was great too. His guitarist is a nut and went to the upstairs part of the venue (it’s like a mezz area, not a huge venue) to play a solo. Lots of energy, does a good job keeping the mood/energy up despite some of his better songs being slow/downers.

Josh Meloy was really good too. Put on a good set, good energy, cracked jokes about Dallas. CWG brought him and his band out for Country Roads and you could tell he was a little intimidated/shy to be singing with CWG - that was kinda funny.

Chaos into fans with 4km to go at stage 2 of Giro. Not caused by fans this time actually, just a huge bottleneck. Pretty sure Cavendish was in it.
