Maybe. I hope because that's kinda the only way it works if he's getting a baby face singles push. He's overcome no odds at this point and Christian is a fun promo but not enough by himself imo. Them beating Christian together would be weak af
I love that Austin Matelson just looks like he runs a Jared Leto-esque island cult. Big fan. Would join.
I’m not sure why it only hit me today, but AEW are probably going to do another exploding barbed wire match, this time for Kingston/Jericho. If they go that route, I hope they pretape the match, preferably outdoors, and then feed it in. Can’t have that go poorly again.
I think a better idea would be to simply scrap the exploding barbed wire match and no one ever do it again because it’s quite possibly the dumbest gimmick of many stupid garbage wrestling gimmicks
AEW needs to cool it period with the gimmick matches for a while. Shit is way overdone and watering down the product. If it's the first match between two opponents there is no need at all for it to be a Texas Deathmatch or street fight or any of that shit.
I don't mind the plethora of gimmick matches as long as it's not as fucking stupid and sloppy as last night's ended up being.
Yeah I’m actually digging the old school Kane vibes with the new Luchasaurus. He needs to fuck some people up. Christian as the smarmy manager is a perfect fit.
yeah I don't think nxt goes away from strictly developmental again, I'd be more interested to see what he can do with one of the main brands
One thing NXT was great as was giving you the main storylines (that made sense) along with grooming the next set of challengers. Both RAW and Smackdown could really benefit from the second portion of what made NXT so great. Let's do away with the "Championship Challenge" shit they do where the next contender to a title gets a non title match wins it and is now the #1 contender. Its so awful...
As bad as main roster has been for years if Trips can create a lot of what they did in NXT before the rebrand I'd be in on that NXT under trips was consistently the best product for a couple of years.
Wow... Never thought he would cave and retire. He must have so much more shit that hasn't come out for this to be the move. Good for the company to force this move because I doubt he went willing. Also overshadowed HHH's news lol...
Steph and Nick will serve as Co-CEO. Curious who takes over as head of creative. Smackdown tonight is probably going to be a disaster...
Never thought I'd live to see the day. I mean I'm not even 40 and Vince is almost 80 but still, I thought he'd outlast me.
the beast knows how to play hardball. He's about to get Nick Khan to add an extra zero to his checks.
There is simply no overstating how much WWE is going to change (assuming Vince isn't still hush-hush calling the shots via Steph from a home office). For 40 years the company has been a brand that's grown to put on a show in front of millions every week, but for 40 years it has been a show solely for the pleasure of one man. One man has been the sole and final decision maker of everything. This costume, that song, this main-event, that feud, this tag team break-up, that script re-write, this script re-write, THAT script re-write, on and on, it's been Vince McMahon and only Vince McMahon that the whole circus has performed to entertain. Chris Jericho dressed up in a monkey costume for a random segment on a random Monday Night Raw in 2000. Why? Becuase Vince wanted him to. Daniel Bryan starts celebrating every cheap/stolen/fluke win as though it's WrestleMania 12's boyhood dream come true (the birth of the "YES" chant). Why? Becuase he thought it was funny. Sometimes Vince's ideas hit, usually they flop, but when they hit they usually hit big enough to be milked for YEARS. Now that's gone. It cannot be overstated how huge it is. Who is calling the shots now? Who is going to be that one final decision maker? In the words of CM Punk, it's now left to Vince's doofus son-in-law and idiot daughter. What I predict is WWE will be sold to NBC/Universal within the next year, that Triple H will be the first man up in charge of creative, and that the feel of the show will lose the wild extremes that Vince's long enture was known for. It'll be a more stable, less unpredictable, more old school NWA style program albeit with a few "sports-entertainment" nods here and there, like black and gold NXT, but with a bigger budget. I also predict that will cause an eventual fizzling of the casual viewer, turning the product into something more like AEW, catered to diehards.
