There are things about me that, that once I reflect on it, I myself find dumb. Your take on combining the years served by 23 people is one that hopefully you can reflect on and see how dumb you are being by diminishing it. Truth be told that headline actually downplayed the damage that the officer’s lie had, there were several lives ruined because of it.

if you mean me, I’m am not insinuating it I’m straight out saying. Cops know they can kill without consequences. LAPD isn’t stopping to wait to see what a black/brown man is holding before they shoot.

I agree completely and never said the story was sensationalized. For some reason, it seems to come across to some on here that critiquing the way someone disseminates information is the same as invalidating that information. Those are not one and the same.

And I would counter that saying the story itself is enough eliminates any implication of sensationalism. I didn’t like her headline and would’ve written it differently. That’s it. No more, no less. I’m sure we can agree it’s the least important thing in this thread, and we can hopefully move on.

Among those Dobbins killed was a Black man who he shot at least 119 times, in what he claims was an attempt to save school children. The damning recording was taken by officer Robert Lee Hooker and begins with Dobbins refusing to apologize to him for creating a toxic work environment. "You’re going to get in some s*** in the streets, and there’s only going to be one man fighting for you, and it’s going to be me, OK?" Dobbin can be heard saying. "Don’t ever ruin that, all right, because these other n******, they’ll leave you dry. I don’t give a f*** if you kill a m*********** in cold blood," he continued. The ex-police chief continued to rant, claiming to have "killed 13 men in my career, justified." He goes on to describe a shootout in which he allegedly "saved 67 kids in a school" by shooting a Black man. "I shot that n****** 119 times, OK? I used to work in a county that was 75% black folks. They had zero power or held zero positions of influence. One day a guy who ran his own portable car washing company decided to run for an elected position, and he won in a landslide. He went door to door, got people rides to places to vote. This created a cascade, the towns elected positions flipped to black in 4 years. The sheriff was black, he hired/promoted the black officers. A bunch of the white cops quit/resigned. They elected a black judge, mayor…..all the white folks were up in arms.
My mom was born and raised in Lexington. In the 60s, they were one of the first black families in Holmes County to get indoor plumbing. My grandfather was an elected official there in the 70s and 80s; served many years as president of the board of supervisors. One of his biggest issues then was police harassment and brutality; he’s quoted in a 1982 issue of Time Magazine talking about what they’re doing to make policing better. Still have a few cousins who live there and they say if anything it’s gotten worse over the past decade or so.
If any of those women end up pregnant they will be forced to carry and give birth to their rapist’s child.
Is this one of those rare examples of a cop lying? Hitting a person 119 times seems like a lot. I’d guess someone hit around 10 times is incapacitated, so that’s about 110 shots into a dead body? Did he load/unload his pistol six+ times to achieve this milestone?
Police see black people as not human and can treat them the way they do animals. Sadly, they somehow have the same opinions about their wives and SO. Maybe the answer is that they are all horrible people and we need to eliminate all of them.
There's a popular jazz club in SF that was broken into the other night, and it's in the heart of the tenderloin so as soon as it happened it was pretty much open season on the place for folks on the street. Cops show up after like 90 mins, fail to get a hold of the owners/management (it's like 3:00 am on a night they weren't operating mind you) and decide to tape the broken doorway up with cardboard before leaving - effectively allowing the place to be intruded upon and burglarized further for the rest of the night. Even when the mission is protecting property/ capital, they fucking suck at it.
