I have no clue what regal's contract looks like in AEW but i'm sure that is one person HHH will want back into his inner circle at WWE.
Nick Khan is now Co-CEO. I wouldn't count on the guy that made a bunch of cuts wanting to bring them back.
lol it's probably just going to be the same old shit, maybe without a million camera cuts a second though. That ship isn't getting turned around at the drop of a hat.
Yeah, I saw that. Even though I agree that is the likely outcome, the article is purely speculative. Dunn will be calling camera cuts a plenty tonight.
On Smackdown we got a crisp night of storyline telling. Promo's felt natural... We probably don't see full storyline changes till after the UK show... I think they are pretty set on what the major outdoor shows are going to be. But I agree in looking forward to the small tweaks we might get before the larger ones unfold. Also can't wait for Sasha to eventually return.
Looks like Vince was using company money to pay off his women. https://www.cagesideseats.com/wwe/2...expenses-vince-mcmahon-hush-money-nda-scandal The Company has made a preliminary determination that certain payments that Vince McMahon agreed to make during the period from 2006 through 2022 (including amounts paid and payable in the future), and that were not recorded in the WWE consolidated financial statements, should have been recorded as expenses in the quarters in which those agreements were made (the “Unrecorded Expenses”). As of the date hereof, the Company has identified Unrecorded Expenses totaling approximately $14.6 million. All payments underlying the Unrecorded Expenses were or will be paid by Vince McMahon personally.
Do you think they will eventually go to less scripting of promos for the people who don't need it to be completely scripted word for word?
A small but good start would be for the words wrestling and wrestlers to be said with regularity again.
I’d guess we don’t start seeing a big change until after SummerSlam since that’s so close. Maybe even not until the lead up until the Rumble/Mania just because of timing etc.
Anyone watching the A&E “Rivals” show? Watching the first episode now with Shawn and Bret. Only one on A&E app so far.
They scripted attitude era acts. I would imagine that they allow the performers to deliver the scripted promo in the voice they choose. That seemed to be what happened on Friday. I don’t think a publicly traded company will ever allow its talent to just go wild. Less delivering it how Vince hears it and more delivering it now (insert wrestler) hears it.
With Triple H back in charge. I'm hoping Cora Jade vs Roxanne Perez will turn into the blood feud like Ciampa/Gargano
I'm hoping we get less stupid name changes. Not that those two are, just reminded me of all the stupid name changes that have occurred over the years.
I don't care that people get a WWE name, but the whole dropping part of the name with no explanation needs to end. I imagine it will without neurotic Vince.
I don't mind them getting a WWE name. I mind the stupid fucking names, or renaming them period when they get to the main roster after they have made a name for themself on NXT. Either rename name them when they join or make a story out of the renaming, don't just do it and act like nothing happened. Brok Breaker is a stupid name, as is as the "Freaking" part of Seth Rollins, Butch, T-BAR, Doudrop, Happy Corbin, Madcap Moss, Mace, Mansoor, Shanky, Xia Li, and the majority of the NXT talents
It'll clearly take a while to fully implement changes. This won't be a wcw rebrand vacate and start over. But there are a few really simple things they could do right away to vastly improve the product outside of booking. 1) Stop the camera bullshit with cuts and zooms, 2) give everyone their full names back, 3) get rid of banned words and ridiculous phrases they repeat all night, and hopefully 4) commentary improves without Vince yelling in their ears all night Those things could potentially make the show watchable as they slowly transition the creative
I get what you're saying and would normally agree - I probably didn't make my point well enough. The impression I get is that Raw & Smackdown are still drawing viewers and it's pretty much 'same old, same old' - you're still getting basically all the big stars on the shows. Yes, the content's crap, but I would probably still watch either show. Whereas NXT is just garbage nowadays. Given the choice, I'd probably see what else was on. All three need a lot of work, but we need NXT 3.0 ASAP.
Very noticeable different style. Trying to have something going on at all times. Trying to be exciting. Segments overlapping, boring things like match announcements during breaks so you are coming back to action. Still a good amount of cuts, but feel it's been better than last time I watched. Like it so far, it helps they have a good crowd
Was hoping A&E was on YouTubeTV but it’s not. I was able to watch the Bret/Shawn one for free on A&E website. I assume they upload them a couple weeks after.
Lot of talk about HHH pushing his NXT guys, but looking at the roster how many guys didn't come through NXT? Orton, Miz, Lashley, Styles, Kofi, Rey, and Ziggler off the top of my head?
