I dont consume any ringer content except for the prestige tv pod. Im not too proud to admit my friends and I were big fall out boy fans back in the day. There's a ringer pod debating My Chemical Romance v Fallout boy that my friend sent in the group chat Listening now. IDK who Charles Holmes is, but he is hilarious. Big fan. No interviews, respect my decision
I just finished. Great pod. Love those three together. 120 mark with Slow Ride was fantastic. Rewound it a few times.
Bill saying DDL’s career was compromised by never being in something like Sleepless In Seattle was an all timer.
Bob Ryan talking about centers like Embiid wouldn’t put one of those guys in hell was hilarious to me.
I forget who he was taking about (maybe Havlicheck) but was discussing one on one vs Kobe and he said Kobe because the other player was more of a team player instead of one on one.
i don’t want to get into the Twitter debate / old heads vs new school stuff but yes Embiid would break wilts ankles And I guess Havlicek would have to d up Durant or Lebron
that was an obscure reference to jackie talking about how she was the first woman in there and all that entailed. but Red Auerbach insisted on it
in hindsight, maybe newspaper reporters shouldn't have been hanging out where the players were just trying to get showered and dressed after they played basketball for 2 hours
This would be a cool historical pov for some kind of media form. You could probably make a damn good comedy sketch of Bob Ryan hanging out with Harden till last call at a strip club
You know Larry Bird once took me to the strip club in Bedford Indiana he used to sneak out during high school and go to, this place is nothing like that
After Larry hurt his back tarring his own driveway — by the way something you kids would Never (capital N, italicized) do today — he had to give up lap dances. Hey is the buffet included?
Yes, but they had a solid 3 album run with From Under the Cork Tree, to Infinity on High, to Folie a deux
seems pretty accurate to me and the dipshit gang gonna do it all over again in six months with devers
it's weird how out of the "nfl media" circuit bill barnwell seems despite being the most established espn guy. anyone else feel like his pod is pretty irrelevant? he's been doing just one show a week all offseason but i figured things would change as the season drew closer. and he's seemingly last to talk about the hot media topics (mike sando and qb tiers, the LAR writer and stafford's arm, etc.) maybe he's more focused on just the nfl season and game recaps but i have been surprised at how little he's done this summer
Granted I've had very limited exposure to him, but I would consider the possibility that he appears to have the personality of a toad.
Yeah he’s just not interesting in the least. Not sure how he’s employed the top media outlet covering the top sport.
Wasn't he supposed to be on vacation in Europe? He's really over there keeping up with Pats pre-season games?
Had to make sure his million followers knew the pats had a young WR who scored a preseason TD vs a bottom 5 team
I remember there being a popular rumor that a hooker robbed Barnwell back when he was living on the strip in Vegas
my question about barnwell wasn't an endorsement of him but more an inquiry as to why he's so inactive relative to his peers at other companies barnwell once proposed a herbert + derwin james + rashawn slater for trevor lawrence + 3rd round pick trade. i don't think he's very intelligent.
I think it was when he was working for Grantland, he was living in a condo on the strip and the word was a hooker robbed his ass including some slips for some big futures bets he had made
