First 2 episodes have been good Spoiler is his daughter really dead and hes just imagining talking to her on the phone? Or is she that well hidden that the CIA just thinks shes dead?
First episode was slow and dark and took me a while to get into it, but I'm in now. Lithgow's good and it's making me feel bad for what seems inevitable for his character.
That was a terrific episode. The Zoe stuff is kind rough for me, but she's got a past that seems like it's going to come into play sometime soon that will make it pay off. At least I'm hoping it's that instead of just her being some random damsel in distress cliche.
My only critique is the way they keep referring to the goings-on/people’s lives as “this story.” That feels forced. Otherwise, loving it. Shout out to Chris Partlow. That dude rocks.
Listened to the audiobook first which had the same premise. The show changed a lot of what was in the book but I'm still liking it a lot.
Spoiler Thought it was bullshit they didn't attack during the fight following the car wreck instead of running wherever they ran until he whistles
That part doesn't really make much sense especially since he already said he was going to give her $500,000.
Loved the beginning but seems like they’re gonna have to do a lot of stupid shit to keep the story going
I’m still on board with the trajectory of this current season. All the episodes are compelling and I’m still engaged with the story. I do wonder about the announced second season, though. The current story seems like one season should be plenty to finish telling it.
Didn’t see it coming until they were in the car together and he told the story about being called freckles
Just watched. The only reason I knew it was the finale was bc there wasn’t an episode on Friday. I enjoyed the first season although I did guys the twist early on, but it was still very enjoyable. Excited to see what comes next year
Glad to see it got a Season 2 because that was a non-ending. As much as I love Bridges, Lithgow was the star of the show. Them together in the car in Ep. 8 was my favorite part of the show. Could have done without the Zoe stuff too, it didn't lead anywhere though I expect she will be in S2 somewhere. Surprisingly I didn't see the twist coming. Spoiler Was legit surprised to see Hamzad broken down like Chase was, expected him to be all menacing and shit, not that you have to be in order to wield that kind of power
I agree with you (shocking). She is too weak and worthless otherwise. Helps to make her more of an equal presence and validate her usefulness to him. Otherwise she is just a weak drag along.
I think I missed one thing or I’m confused: Spoiler how did Harold not realize that Angela is Dan’s daughter if him and Dan are brothers
Spoiler I'm not entirely clear if they are brothers or if they are whether they know they are. Sure, it was mentioned by The Old Man, but that could have been mataphor. The way the last two episodes transpired it made it appear less certain.
And even if they are blood related, they hadn’t talked since the escape, so he wouldn’t have known anyway
Really well done. The flashback scenes to when they were all younger in Afghanistan were great in adding context to the present day story. Hope they are back for season 2.
