Trivium, Whitechapel. Bands that are fine but I don't follow But it's really Between the Buried and Me, and Khemmis. At the Roseland in October This is Trivium's tour
Btbam is only gonna play like 50 mins and I bet Khemmis gets 30. Bummer, but I’ll still go. Never really heard much Trivium or White Chapel.
trivium is badass! A thrash, metal core sound. start with these 3: shogun Ascendency In the court of the dragon i may be hitting the atl show, which is the day before in flames opening for messhugah
Here is their lead man’s list of his favorite albums: My list - at least - for today : Ascendancy In Waves Shogun ITCOTD WTDMS TSATS ETI SITS The Crusade VF This just means my 1st favorite to my 10th. I love every album. My favorites will also shift from time to time.
Had this pop up on YouTube this morning and gave it a listen. Not necessarily my thing, but I didn't hate it for whatever genre that would be considered(post hardcore I guess?). The guy has a nice voice.
i imagine all the wikis and such label them as post hardcore but eh, seems like normal rock with a couple of djent sections to me
like this is still the best album of the year. is it symphonic deathcore? yeah sure. are they trending hard in the direction of death metal? also yeah sure. subgenres will always be helpful but imperfect labels.
I thought it was pretty boring tbh. Though I haven’t been big on any of their material since Surtur Rising
definitely worse than the last 2. I’m not sure there’s a single song where you hear it and think that one would be a banger live. I’m going to see them in November so hopefully they only play 3-4 songs off if it
How can it be worse than the last two albums? The last two albums were 100% worthless. I'm struggling to believe they've actually gotten worse.
going to have to disagree with you on that one. Berserker had some duds but also had some bangers. Jomsviking I thought overall was very good with really only one song I often passed over. Also loved that one as a concept album
cj is still the most pretentious, look at me piece of shit in the heavy music community slamcore is still a bit lame but also... he's an SSS tier vocalist
Darkest Hour recently played their 2007 album Deliver Us in full. they are one of the best US melodic death metal bands, imo. here's a soundboard quality recording of the show.
New Spite album is good. Missed the Trivium conversion - Shogun is my favorite album by Trivium and my top in the genre. Seeing them in Oct.
that’s at Saint Vitus, the best metal venue in the country imo small bar in Brooklyn, total capacity is probably ~250 people. no barriers, no security. the “stage” is a 6” high raised wooden platform. draws big acts because (a) it’s NYC and (b) its own reputation. highly recommend catching a show there if you ever come to NYC
Took a picture outside the venue last time I was in NYC. It wasn’t open yet due to covid but felt like I needed to see it anyway. Definitely on the bucket list
Give me more like this. I'm listening to this album for the first time and digging the shit out of it.
That Darkest Hour album also has artwork by John Baizley (Baroness guy) and was produced by Devin Townsend. Recognized Baizley immediately but didn’t know about Townsend until doing some reading.
Entire catalog is great IMO Seems like some disliked self titled due to polish/some clean singing but I think it’s great. Some fantastic leads on that one. Super melodic. Not sure I could name my favorite. Generally listen to full discography on random - that’s the sign of a consistent quality
