Going to bat for the Kenny Rogers game, it was Sunday finale of the 3 game series the Tigers swept in June of 2006, when it was becoming apparent the Tigers were for real. By Sunday the crowd at Wrigley was entirely Tigers fans, the Tigers scored 6 in the first on their way to a 12-3 win, and Rogers pitched 8 for his 200th win that he punctuated with a double. It was a fantastic day in Wrigleyville.
Gallaraga's imperfect game was amazing. I had standing room only tickets for the July 2006 game where C-Mo hit the grand slam against the White Sox, that was probably my favorite in-person moment. Also love Granderson's incredible home run saving catch vs the Red Sox in 2007.
Ironic because now everyone else but you is rounding home with her (I was at that game with my wife too)
My claim to fame was buying tickets a few weeks in advance for the Tigers/Mariners series back in 06. Of course I picked the fucking game after the no hitter when Maroth or Robertson was pitching
I was at two of my favorite regular season games - That already posted Weaver v JV game - JD Martinez first AB after being hurt hitting a pinch hit go ahead HR off Chris Sale
We need the Soto trade to get done so the flood gates open. Al has about 4 deals to make and probably needs all the time he can get
Derek Hill DFA’d. Kinda surprised they gave up on him with the roster being shit. 50/50 chance he clears?
https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trade-simulator/ That website is pretty fun to mess around on. It'd never happen but looks like fair return for the Skubal/Fulmer rumors would be the Jays #2,3,4 and 5 prospects Name Position MTV ($Ms) Groshans 3B 12.9 Martinez SS 13.9 Tiedemann LHP 22.9 Zulueta RHP 10.1 Total Value: 59.80 Blue Jays Name Position MTV ($Ms) Fulmer RHRP 2.4 Skubal SP 54.8 Total Value: 57.20
Keith Law released his top 70 prospects, and we only have 1 on the list now (Jung) and he’s like in the 60’s. we probably have one of the worst farm systems in baseball now. Unbelievable.
Anyone who has ever come in contact with our starters should be fired. Al, you drafted them? Fired. Littlefield, you developed them? Fired. Fetter, you work with them every day? Fired. Barnhart, you call the pitches? Fired. Miggy, you patted them on the shoulder? Fired.
We aren’t going to get anything useful for Fulmer because Al sucks, but that said, why the fuck would you let him pitch tonight? Hinch, you’re fired too.
I've watched next to nothing this year and have only followed this thread. I thought we had solid prospects, but they were all hurt or too tired (lol) and that's why we sucked. Why would we be sellers again at the trade deadline? I mean, either these guys are going to be good and shouldnt be traded or they suck and no one should want them, right?
Marlins got a top 100 prospect back for a 34 year old journeyman reliever while Avila waits on offers for Joe Jimenez like he's sitting on a prime Aroldis Chapman
Fuck I'm glad we aren't trading anyone of value. With Al we'd get shit for them anyway. Trade them in offseason with a competent GM if you want
lol at that return. Fulmer's not great by any stretch, but there's no way this return is the result of anything other than Avila pricing himself out of the market again and having to come crawling back to take whatever is left at the end. Just like with everyone else he's ever traded.
He deserves Millen levels of hate but gets a pass because people just don't care as much about baseball
At this point, Millen drafted Calvin Johnson which is better than any of Avila picks so far....so are we to the point where Avila is worse than Millen? He's drafted no "hr" yet despite a ton of high picks and took over a rebuild with some assets worth trading, Millen had nowhere near the level of assets to move.
