Definitely, but when the sitting President is 15 points under water and gas is $5 a gallon, this polling is remarkable.
They are so bad at messaging. They should be screaming this from the roof tops, not giving exclusive interviews
Assuming it's correct. This same seat last time around in 2016, polls continuously were showing a fairly tight election between Portman and Strickland all through the summer--almost all showed a Portman lead in single digits. The actual state of the race didn't seem to get noticed until around September. Portman won by 21. I'd just take them with a healthy dose of skepticism. Maybe they've fixed their methodology this time, but the Senate polls haven't been good in the past. Hopefully they're right.
I’m pretty skeptical of the polls because recent history has shown that they aren’t very reliable. However, I’m interested in what’s happening in the primaries around the country today as I think they can be a bit of a canary in the coal mine for whether the regressive GOP politics (especially getting Roe overturned) seems to have any impact.
isnt Pelosi family highly invested into semi conductor / chips / etc? She would stand to profit if things in Taiwan got strange? she is a ghoul and if her plane crashed America would be better
Joh Stewart and all those veterans having to camp out and beg for healthcare is about the most black pilling development so far.
Joe Manchin undressing Harris Faulkner to the point she’s “just asking questions” and it really has been a master class.
The Veteran's Benefits reddit group I'm a member of has had a great awakening on how terrible Republicans actually are towards vets and it's been fantastic.
Just like the Trump admin would have done. I'm sure these families don't see any material difference between the Admins
It must have broken a number of people because that's not the first time I've heard that the Republicans vote on benefits for vets opened some people's eyes. No idea if that actually means anything substantively though
I agree, there won’t be a real focus until after Labor Day. If you would have told me in February that Ryan would be where he is now, however, that’s really a best case scenario. Ryan is like a 10 point underdog taking a touchdown lead into halftime. Vance needs to make changes. Portman was at least +7 in every poll conducted after 8/1/16. The Ohio Teamsters endorsed him in the last week of July, followed by a couple other unions, and Stricklands campaign cratered as it became apparent he couldn’t hold organized labor. A Democrat faces substantial obstacles in Ohio, but without the labor vote, it’s impossible. A Republican doesn’t need it, but a Democrat is DOA without it.
I think this election will signal whether the GOP has to dial it back in purple areas. They can run Marjorie Taylor Greene in the GA14 or Jim Jordan in the OH4 where it’s a 70/30 split. Can they run a nut like Mastriano for Governor in PA? Can they unseat Marcy Kaptur in Toledo, the longest serving woman in the House, by redistricting her to an R5 but running a wacko like Majewski, who literally won the nomination on the strength of being a January 6 insurrectionist without prior office? Are moderates really going to look at Hershel Walker, Oz and Vance and be okay with that?
Pretty much. All it will take is some chud candidate sending rumors through the grapevine about how military members will have a higher per diem limit and rental cars for travel and then all will be forgiven. Little known fact; many to most military members are only elite at skimming off the government
Just an observation. I've spent a good time in the that group getting help/advice on my VA claims and it seems like just recently there was more actual calling republicans out for being shitheads with regards to the PACT act and not generalizing it just being "politicians."
Wow there’s an actual member of the oathkeepers about to be Arizona’s gop Secretary of State nominee.
Joan wants to help people file mass pro se lawsuits to end the pandemic, overhaul the legal system by passing a justice amendment, implement a “Get Out of Debt” plan that helps bridge the gap between the rich and poor, remove innocent Americans from the terrorist watchlist, ensure that her father receives the Medal of Honor, and pay off a fraudulent $140,000 IRS debt that she doesn’t owe. Holy shit
It keeps getting better Joan has helped people take 12 meritorious cases to the high court since 2003, but none of them was heard. She was falsely sued for ‘practicing law without a license’ in Kansas, even when the U.S. Supreme Court has already ruled in 18 cases that anyone can help a person with a legal matter as long as they don’t present themselves as a lawyer and they don’t take a fee. Joan did neither and appealed the case all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court twice, but they refused to hear it.
Last one I swear. "My extensive research and experience shows that CIA agents are posing as minimally trained medical personnel in Wichita area hospitals to try and cause the death of patients from ‘natural causes.’ They are also extorting money from unsuspecting wealthy people using the court system. If elected, I will be working to ban the CIA in Kansas."
I wish that was the case form my experience, would have saved me a lot of time sifting through travel and training plans.
it's incredible how bad the republican party handled that bill yet they will just say "I support our troops" everyone will clap and vote for them I will never understand it
Just shows if the Ds really played hardball with them the Rs would cry every day like the children they are. But alas..
Obviously anecdotal from one polling site, but turnout was insane at my location for the Arizona primaries. The poll workers said it’s been nuts all day. Probably our last fair election in the state in November after R’s take governor and SoS.
