They've done an incredible job pushing young stars the past few weeks. Starks, Garcia, Hobbs, Hook, Jungleboy has a nice edge now, Sammy's got a nice program with Kingston. They're figuring things out now. And when it all comes to fruition, the main event scene will be incredible when you mix the young guys with the established guys like Mox, Punk, Jericho, Page, Omega, Danielson, etc. The Smackdown Six is about to become the Dynamite Dozen.
My issue right now is they have a heel problem, or a face problem, depending on how you look at it. Other than Jade, every belt on AEW and ROH are held by faces. As far as heels, you have JAS, UE and Hobbs as top line heels for men and Britts crew and the boring Dean Malenko clone for women. There is no intrigue. They’re not doing much with House of Black, Miro or other heels right now. If the move is to put the belt on Jericho and wait for Punk I guess that works, but we will be on year three of Jericho being the focal point, and it’s just time to move on. Still love the program, but it’s kind of spinning it’s wheels right now.
Dynamite was pretty great. Best women's match in a long time. Hayter has improved since the last time I paid attention to her match. I always pop for the Lion Tamer too. Definitely don't get the wheel spinning argument. Had some big injuries and had to change some plans but there's plenty of solid stories and good matches happening.
This has been the best back to back Dynamite’s in a while. It also appears Khan realizes he has a lack of heels and is trying to remedy the situation with guys like Hobbs and Page. Ditto Undisputed Elite.
It wasn’t a good comment I’ll admit. They are building young stars and it’s still fun. My point was more in line with title pushes. I love Moxley fighting anyone anywhere, but Jericho back in the title picture does nothing for me. I guess there just aren’t many options. Wardlow/Lethal could be fun and it could be a squash. If it is, where to next? Like I said, maybe I want to see House of Black in a larger role, or just more midcard heel teams pushed up.
I am so glad Cole got away from being in a group with the Bucks. That comedy bullshit was killing him. UE in AEW is going to be good.
I have no idea what they do with Mox at the PPV if Punk can’t go, which seems likely at this point. You could do a match with Garcia. The G1 will be over, so you could to get Okada. There aren’t many obvious choices though, and that’s a problem.
I assume Kenny will return as a face, so I am going to guess that Callis joins up with UE at the PPV. UE will need a fourth, so I could see a new debut also joining up with them, or Jay White returns and they add the BC to the mix. This all sets the stage for return of Omega and The Elite’s reunion.
Cliffs? Not saying he isn't, I mean this whole thread is devoted to all shapes and sizes of carney scum.
He was removed from his executive position at Impact after the shit hit the fan there because he was accused of sexual harassment. Rumor is it was Scarlett and some others.
That’s where I think Black or Miro could get in. Start building both of them. Of course the easiest answer is patch things up with MJF and put it on him.
They could easily have Danielson turn on Mox, punk could return and turn on mox, or Kenny return as a heel. There are tons of options
Liontamer is one of the best submission moves ever. Sucks it can only be done on cruiserweights. I'd love to see a woman adopt it because submission moves always look insane in women's matches. Great show last night. Starks is going to be a megastar.
I would have to go back and see if the timeline matches up, but Kross asked for his release in 2019 and Impact wouldn't grant it and set him on the sidelines and then one day just randomly gave him his release.
May be nothing but promotion for a show that takes place in October and you don't have your biggest star and champion in it is a little odd.
It sounded like Punk was really struggling to get around at the SDCC, so my assumption is he’s out until the New Year.
If you haven’t been paying attention to what the morons at Discovery have been doing the past two days…
On the special episode of Dark tonight, they announced Madison Rayne vs. Leila Gray for Rampage tomorrow night
Mance Warner cut a backstage promo on this Dark and he sounds more country than the Briscoes. Also this episode of Dark was less than 30 minutes, lol this was fucking pointless.
When is this trios tournament supposed to start? Not starting this week obviously, so that only gives them like 8 shows to get the finalists determined for the PPV. Maybe only 7, depends on if they want to have the finalists determined the Rampage heading into the weekend of the PPV.
I have to imagine that with hangman and the young bucks getting back together is going to lead to the Elite vs Undisputed with Kenny having to choose who his friends are when he comes back Spoiler then a Russo level swerve where they are actually all friends and they all have bullet club shirts on under their other shit
Was dating Janela and was signed with him when AEW first started. Was wondering if her contract ran up or whatever.
