Unfortunately this should have been the case last year, but DtS spent an entire episode on Mazepin unlapping himself and treating it like a first victory.
Yeah, as much as I like DtS and understand what it’s done for popularity, it is underwhelming. It could be way better. The way it jumps around timeline wise makes 0 sense. F1 has plenty of drama as it is. No need to mess with it.
I'm excited for the golf version they are doing. But i think they obviously cater to the non f1 fan who has no clue wtf is going on and doesn't notice when they are using clips from different races.
It is nuts that they have only had 11 podiums from 2013 to now. And only one race wins as well in the same span.
I'd say it has more to do with bottas getting an engine penalty moving DR up to #2 on the grid. That's also the correct move. You have a 7-time grand prix winner leading the race, you probably don't ask him to switch with your driver who hasn't won a race yet. he also got the fastest lap on one of the last laps of that race.
Ricciardo was very good his last year with alpine/Renault. Would definitely spice things up to see him go up against mclaren next year in the alpine.
The boys from The Race Pod seemed to feel like Danny's issue wasn't so much how McLaren sets up the car but more that Danny can't adapt to the new gen car with all the aero chances and might likely struggle anywhere he went.
getting smoked 10-3 in qualifying. Curious if that is the largest difference this year. Maybe Norris to Danny?
Oh is this a Carlos is the #1 at Ferrari stupidity we saw at the start of the season. I thought this was put to bed along with the idiots who where saying Russell over Hamilton
To be fair, Charles is smoking everyone in qualifying - I think he’s out qualified Max 9-4. He’s the fastest man on the planet for one lap.
It’s also difficult to have bad strategy for “go fast for one lap” Sure there are some nuances there, but Ferrari can only fuck it up so much for one lap.
Fair, but it doesn’t mean nothing. Otherwise teams wouldn’t care about qualifying. There are certainly tracks were overtaking is more difficult and starting from the front is an advantage. Bankz was using that stat as a stick to beat Carlos with - I was just pointing out that Charles is beating everyone by that margin in qualifying, not just Carlos. Even with that qualifying record, he’s 80 points behind Max and only a few points ahead of Checo, George & Carlos. Mostly that is Ferrari’s fault and not Charles fault, but the overall delta between Charles & Carlos is not huge.
I wonder if other sports will sort of open up and let their guys just be themselves. Like trying to imagine the meltdown if Tom Brady says this. “I was just fucking with it,” he says, laughing. “I don’t have any other piercings anywhere. But I love that there’s this thinking: Shit, has he got his balls pierced?” https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2022/08/cover-story-lewis-hamilton-never-quits
Didn't the CRB already approve/validate his McLaren contract? I'm assuming they wouldn't have done that if he already had a pre-existing valid contract with Alpine. Will be interested to see what Alpine is going to try to do to convince them otherwise.
I’m glad Alpine has decided to take center stage as worst run team in F1 over the summer break. I’m sure when racing starts up again Ferrari will happily regain the spotlight.
For a moment I forgot that Ferrari's are insanely expensive and thought the recall would be like 200k cars of something. Nope 25k lol
There’s a Ferrari dealer close to me. I was driving by one afternoon and one was pulling out of the lot. It went over a small bump and the front fell off. Fun to drive. Would never own one (if that was ever a possibility)
