The fact that they optioned Gilly for Tromp suggests they’re just buying TdA a few days and it’s not more serious than that. If it was bad, they’d have just IL’d Travis I assume.
I’ll take all the potential options to DH over ozuna that I can get. He’s not much of an upgrade but I still prefer him
Tromp is needed rn but I think this more hints that Contreras has to play every day at C or DH. Allows us to more easily play tda and Bill every day. Tda is still more likely to contribute offensively than Ozuna.
Glad we finally became a serious franchise and cut our mascot from the 26 man. Been an absolute joke he’s hung around this long.
I guess they want someone who can eat up a lot of innings if things go sideways today but curious what the hold up is for Yates. He is going to need to throw again to stay fresh somewhere I would think. Seems like it has been a while since he last pitched.
Honestly, I’m not sure. I think it is because if we won 70% of games started by every starting pitcher we’d win 113 games a season, which is damn good. But, it does feel like you’d want games won started by your ace to be a bit higher to help offset the expected lower winning percentage in games started by the fourth and fifth starters and still be close to playing .600 baseball overall as a team.
the majority of those starts were made before max was maximus. great the last 2 years (2.5 if you include 2020) and a bit of a roller coaster before then
Bruh what? While my baby boy was still working things out, he also got great run support and won 17 games in 2019.
Yeah, I thought the same thing at first. But, I looked it up and he made 39 starts 2019 and before, and he has made 61 starts since 2020 to yesterday. Even if you make 2021 the dividing line, it’s 50 starts before and 50 starts since.
