Like, did he steal the documents for some sort of vanity project or because he's a klepto and could do it (only to have the documents sit in a basement), or did he steal documents to blackmail other politicians or heads of state of other countries, selling secrets to foreign governments for financial gain, etc.?

if they include notes or transcripts of private convos he had with other world leaders, I could see him not wanting others to have access to them. He’s been pretty secretive about not disclosing the stupid shit he said in those convos.
