I know announcers use this line over and over but it really is good to see Acuña almost go deep in sort of rc.
I don’t understand rostering Adrianza, so I certainly can’t wrap my mind around starting him twice in a huge series.
Yep he still has two more years after this season on his contract. Hopefully he actually gives a crap in his final year and hits again in order to get another deal with some other team.
I’ll never quite understand the approach down 3 in the ninth to swing at the first pitch with nobody on. Riley turning in a trash AB to end this one.
I feel like people are giving a pass for this years deadline based on last year. This team has some holes that we really did not do much to address
i liked what i saw from odo and grossman has been solid so far (although wasted because snit). i think we did just fine at the deadline considering we have maybe the worst farm system in baseball right now
Hmmm idk how to feel about that. He's not wrong, but that's the kind of stuff usually left to us internet losers to bitch about.
The Braves haven't done anything that says they could beat the Mets in a playoff series to date. Definitely some bold comments.
It’s also coming from a heavily analytics driven player, so he understands that big inning should have just as easily been a 1-2-3 10 pitch inning.
Some sort of a bat to help plug the gaping hole at DH. Mancini went to Houston for peanuts. Something like that
I just don’t think that was possible unless they also moved on from Ozuna. You can’t really have him and a guy like Trey on the roster simultaneously. And while I think it would be more than valid to do so, eating the ~$35M on Ozuna at the same deadline in which they dropped $200M plus on Riley and took on $50M for Iglesias seems a bridge too far.
Fair enough, I just feel like at some point you have to look at Ozuna as a sunk cost and move on. He has become a total black hole in our lineup and at the end of the day the point is to win ballgames, not feel better about or try to justify a bad investment we made
2nd was the spot we could have made an effort. Arcia needs to be hitting 9th. Couple big moments lately where he hasn't kept the inning alive for Harris.
