Kim being overrated isn’t the dumb part of your original post; the drive by on Finau is the bad take. 4 wins at age 32 isn’t keeping pace with the likes of Spieth/JT, sure, but it’s an enviable career for most guys. His major record is lacking, but the list of guys that you can say that about is quite long
It’s not a Finau criticism at all. If anything, I’m making the claim that guys like him deserve more credit, at least compared to Anthony Kim. It’s kind of like that saying about living long enough to be considered the villain. Sometimes for narrative’s sake, it’s better to leave before you prove to folks you can’t win the big one. Because for some unknown reason, people automatically assume Kim would’ve won multiple major championships. There are far better players with similar or better resumes that are now known for their inability to win the big ones. Those guys deserve far more credit and Kim deserves far less.
Honestly my hope that LIV fails has more to do with Norman than Saudis. Like if LIV had Saudi backing, a likeable face and didn't try to be as disruptive but just additive - I could probably get over the Saudi thing. Like if PGL had gone with Saudi backing as originally planned - instead of their idea being hijacked by fucking Norman.
Chambers is a beaut right now. Still looks like poa on greens is bumpy this late in day, but does look like course has improved.
Anyone used ship sticks before? Heading to Dallas next week and going to play Saturday and Sunday. Thinking about using them instead of the airlines.
I have used them twice and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. I’ve heard some horror stories though
I used FedEx once back when they used to advertise shipping golf clubs a lot. They charge you a ton for the damn box and when I got there the course threw it out I'm pretty sure. Other than that it was good.
Playing out there next week! Can't wait to lose all my golf balls everywhere! At least one will have my face on it so someone can find it and enjoy it.
Don’t know if he’s still there. But I used to know the pro out there pretty well. He used to be the pro at the course I grew up playing and he ran a really good youth program.
Playing my first round at the local club tomorrow since we had our third baby. Sleeping like a kid on christmas eve tonight.
It was the disaster that was Fox/Norman along with it being brown and not US Open like conditions that treated the course unfairly - but the tournament was fantastic imo.
I had no clue until watching the field of dreams game last night that Iowa had the most golf courses per capita in the country.
Yep, it's pretty great and also the best value in the world as it's way less than $100 even at peak rates.
At sea island this weekend. Unfortunately seaside is closed for aerification, so have to settle for plantation and retreat courses instead. Still very excited.
As long as your pants weren’t around your ankles she shouldn’t worry. Probably a lot of pasture golf courses.
Turned on some pga tour live just in time to watch mark leishman hit a bunch of balls into the water. Sure is a shame.
Escena was a great track. Perfectly maintained and each hole was inviting. Every single one was just begging to get birdied. I had zero. Unfortunately, it’s hot as fuck in Palm Springs in August. I was also up drinking until 4a. My pants were soaked with butt sweat before I even got to my second shot on the first hole, and I could barely stand up much less swing competently. Had to bail after nine
Thinking of playing the Tour 18 course in Dallas while I’m there next weekend. Is it worth it for those that have played it?
its been a long time since I played there, and while not bad, I feel certain you can find a better course

I agree on finding a better course. Did you feel like you were playing holes from those various courses though? As long as it feels pretty close to matching the replica holes I’d like to give it a go.
kind of? It’s flat ass north dallas. Hard to recreate some of those holes real faithfully. So much is the surroundings. But sure, you know you’re hitting into 17th at sawgrass. hopefully others have played to give you a better opinion than mine.
