you’ll need to recall who ran each leg but here are the splits blob:https://worldathletics.org/7fbfb771-ca5f-41a0-8401-6e860b7edd3e
Noah still running wild, ran a 19.46 today in the 200m. So happy to see him dominating. I love Knighton too, but Noah is running out of his mind these days.
Swimming WR are so meh. The 100m has been broken 8 times in 14 years. The 200m in track (most equivalent race) has been broken just twice (by the same person) in 26 years.
That's a dumb comment. The only period of swimming that was bad was the textile suit era and those records were mostly bullshit. Lol at track records still holding up from the 80s.
Human performance in basically every sport has improved significantly over the last two decades but track records still stand from then? Seems like an ode to the quality of steroids, not something to celebrate or denigrate another sport for.
Not referring the few records still standing from the Eastern European doping from the 80s (and lest we forget that was happening in swimming as well).
Pretty sure FGJ wasn't Eastern European and no big time US swimmer has ever been popped for PEDs or many in general, the Chinese 400/800 meter guy is all I can really remember
It's a pretty nutty feat. Achieved without the super dope suits. Second 50 was one of the most impressive legs I've seen. Only 3 other swimmers that broke 47 seconds did it at: 22, 22, and 26 (Dressel Cielo and Bernard). Popovici is a ways off 18. 48.69 is the US 17-18 - Popovici is nearly 2 seconds faster at age 17.
World lead less than two weeks into the season with a time that’s not even top 50 all time seems ehh.
anything sub 6.6 is insane for a collegiate runner to open the season with his previous best being 6.66
Similar number of events as a normal track meet. Just slight variations from outdoors like 60 instead of 100 (and 60H instead of 110H) and the mile instead of 1500M and heptathlon instead of decathlon. Then in meets like this they sometimes have rarer events like the 600M, 1000M, 4x800M, etc.
So Matt Rhule loves him some track times in recruiting. He signed several football/track guys that we would not have otherwise signed were Frost to have stayed. Going to make the track team a lot more competitive in sprints and jumps.
