No. There are passages alluding to homosexuality in a negative light. And further more, how could one say sexual sin between a man and a woman is bad, and not say the same thing between a man/man or woman/woman? I can't speak for all religious folk, but I don't think I single it out more than anything else. I don't go around ranting about it. I'm responding to questions. If you'd like, we could discuss other things that you think might be immoral? Again, NT Christians are not under the OT law. I'm not saying it doesn't matter. I'm saying there are clear references that state it no longer has to be followed the way it was for OT Jews. My man, you know this isn't a black and white/simple discussion.
If we could discard the OT at that time because it was a dated text full of hypocrisy and contradictions why would the same logic not follow for the NT now, over a thousand years later?

Matthew 5:17 specifically states to not ignore the OT. Why do you? All of those things I listed earlier are mentioned in the OT but you disregard bc you want to. Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

You are assuming a lot. I don't disregard because I want to. It is difficult to have this discussion when there are so many more books and passages. It is impossible to to put all these into context online. I'll try one: There's an entire portion of the book of Acts where Peter, a Jew (who became a Christian) who was one of the most zealous followers of Christ, had to be told to not ignore those who were not Jews themselves. Both for his benefit personally, and because of how other Jewish Christians would have reacted. This either went beyond what the OT taught, or had been misinterpreted. Take your pick. Either, it is a clear example of certain parts of the OT no longer applying. Or at least, as I mentioned earlier, no longer applying in regards to how it was misapplied. What Jesus was trying to accomplish.
This is where I assume most folks these days are. If it doesn't hurt anyone else, it shouldn't matter. I can at least understand that, even if I don't agree with it. Again, doesn't mean I'm looking to legislate that on other folks. We're talking my personal opinion here.
I grew up in an ultra conservative religious family. Discussions in college on religion allowed me to start thinking in ways that eventually led to a complete 180, so I think saying discussions can't change people's mind is not necessarily true. I will agree to drop this, as it is off-topic to the thread.
I am not at all joking about that. My decisions on what’s moral are influenced by interactions with others, but there’s only one person that can determine what’s moral for you - and that’s you. There is no objective scientific experiment that can quantify morality. Pretending that you can find an objective morality in a book that you pick and choose different parts to agree with is just lying to yourself. It’s subjective.
For all the old folks here, who were around when we were all on Rivals, it can almost be argued I have done a 180. I was a much more militant person back then.
The theological basis for Christianity is Judaism. If you are Christian, you must view yourself as a Jew - because that’s how Jesus would view it. He couldn’t be more clear about that.
You're going a level deeper than I intended. But yes, clearly Jesus was a Jew, as were all of his apostles. There is a difference between a Jew, and a Jew who converted to Christianity. I know you aren't saying current day Jews follow Christ. At least I don't think you are. But no, I don't view myself as a Jew. I'm a Gentile (now a Christian). As are virtually all of Christians these days. Maybe we are saying the same thing in different ways. If I were a Jew, I'd still follow the OT Law.
