Respectable result and performance for Schalke against BMG at home with another great goal from Zalazar. The attack seems OK but the defense is a disaster which should at least keep things from getting boring.
Jamal Musiala doesn’t get the hype he deserves for being a first team mainstay on this Bayern squad at 18/19.
He’s a top 3 under 21 player in the world right now and I don’t think he’s #3. He’s so silky smooth. I’m glad we were able to get him away from Chelsea and the English National team.
So what’s the top 3? Lots of really good players so that’s a big statement. Pedri, Gavi, Fati, Bellingham, Wirtz, Davies, Saka, Martinelli, Rodrygo, Camavinga, Mendes, Pino, Fofana, Reyna, Adeyemi, Timbur, Gravenberch, Gvardiol, Saliba
For me, based solely off what I’ve seen, I’d go: Bambi, Camavinga and Rodrygo in no order. Second tier is probably Bellingham, Wirtz and Phonzie. I don’t think there’s a wrong answer and all of them will be cornerstones of their clubs.
Do you have a different definition of “under 21” in terms of soccer/football than the rest of the world? Every youth setup is U12/1516/17/18/19/21/23 and that means that age and under
Growing up playing hockey U12 for example would mean you had to be under 12 when the season started. You could turn that age during the season. These aren’t youth teams though just a list of players so when the conversation is who are the best players under 21 years old that means 20 year olds and younger to me.
I can see where you’d think that then with your background but based on this post since Vini just turned 22 last month I think NnB and I were on the same page that under 21 equals 21 and under
Girls hockey I believe was 12U which is 12 and under. That’s squares with soccers format. Soccer should change its verbiage, imo. U21 = Under 21 21U = 21 and under
Schalke have a penalty, saved but keeper off the line, then keeper saves the retry. Truly magical stuff.
Hoffenheim has a decent squad put together. Leverkusen turtles at the first sign of competence from the opponent.
I'll be in Munich next weekend and Bayern is home. Is it worth it to see a match or is it the typical sterile big club atmosphere?
