galaxie 500 or luna are really great from around that time. dean wareham is the lead singer on both so the sound is pretty similar, but I enjoy the luna catalog slightly more. he also had a really good solo album a year or two back pavement is also one of my favorite bands ever
Sonic Youth, Pavement, Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr., Built to Spill 80s stuff I didnt like until later, don't know where the definition blurs on indie, regardless, stuff I enjoy. Gang of Four Husker Du Joy Division Depeche Mode New Order Nick Cave Talking Heads Lots of other 80s post punk type shit I like. Very subjective though.
the cure, pixies, psychedelic furs, talking heads, jesus and mary chain, talk talk, violent femmes, mission of burma, stone roses,
2 random galaxie 500 related facts that I’m not sure why I have in my head: 1. When they were starting out at Harvard, their drummer didn’t own a kit, so he borrowed one from Conan O’Brien 2. The song Naomi by Neutral Milk Hotel is about Galaxie 500’s bassist Naomi Yang Again, not sure why I remember either of these

I saw them all of these artists open and play with Big Red Machine in a pretty small venue. It was super cool.

oh man this is great, band out of Venezuela called Zeta reminds me of the glory days of Omar Rodriguez Lopez's solo albums
just discovered The Beth’s a couple days ago…very pleased and exciting to go thru their albums. Got Uptown Girl on repeat right now
Just left Lake Street Dive in Chicago. Jesus Christ they are unfathomably talented and just put on a tremendous show. I'm on a fucking run of shows this week.
And this from Friday is all bops and bangers. For folks who liked the Olivia Rodrigo and/or girl in red records from last year.
real good. one of the best organized festival environments I’ve ever been in and the crowd was perfect
Saw First Aid Kit and Lord Huron last night. Great show but I had a few too many beers so I was hurting most of the day. Tonight is The Beths, Alvvays, and Courtney Barnett.
