Another five years after this. My guess is that they do a full season next year and if his play stays consistent, they give him a nice fat extension. Completely agree. If you groom Grissom for LF and resign Dansby, you have all of your everyday position players locked down for at least five years.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if they cut Ozuna and keep TDA/Contreras/Pina all on the roster, which would allow Contreras/TDA to DH when they aren’t catching and give Pina spot starts behind the plate.
The fun thing about Harris is that even if there is some regression with his bat his defense is still great enough to keep him a plus player.
It's crazy how quickly his power has progressed, and at this level. 739 ABs in the minors -- 14 HRs 246 ABs in the majors -- 12 HRs
Wow. Didn’t see that coming at all. Assumed it would be next season, but with about 7-8 weeks left, he’s got a shot for this year. Him pitching in any capacity for the big league club is incredible
While adjusting to a pretty drastic change in his stance. Unbelievable athleticism to be able to do that.
I hope we keep Seitzer forever Feels like his approach matches well with AA’s player acquisition strategy and they do a great job of getting the most out of the majority of dudes that want to do the work (staring at Marcel)
Not to look ahead but our starting pitching next year could be really interesting: Fried Wright Strider Anderson Muller Elder Soroka Obviously injuries happen and these things have a way of working themselves out. Good problem to have. Can't imagine they pick up Morton's option next year. Also, gotta imagine Odo is not on a short-leash. If he can't get it together, I'm much rather have a combination of those young guys stepping in.
deGrom Fried Wright Strider That's an elite 1-4. The remaining guys can fight it out for the 5th spot.
Even if he could be some long relief (3 innings) on the post season roster that would be pretty clutch
At this point I’d take half a season of deGrom as long as it was the last half. Dude is on another level.
Yeah. I wish he’d just rehab for the next 6 months. Or just do nothing. Come back for spring training.
I'm not even trying to be optimistic that he'll pitch for the Braves again. Rupturing your achilles twice so quickly cannot mean your body is built for that kind of strain.
No reason to rush anything or really expect anything. But hypothetically if he's doing well and can pitch a handful of innings....there's no reason to stop it.
If Vaughn stays hitting when Oz returns the correct lineup is Ozzie at 2B, Contreras catching, Grissom at DH
