manny diaz made his ass quit smh pete ariz said he was gonna be the best OL to eva come out of SO FL lmao
I kinda thought that with the advent of early signing day and the transfer portal, that the bump class concept after a new coaches first full year was no more. But 7 of the top 15 classes are first year coaches. Also partially based on the number of big time programs who have first year head coaches.
The trouble is that the gap between the number 3 class and the number 12 class is bigger than the gap between number 12 and number 80. If youre not in the 300pt bama/uga/osu tier, you're not going to be competitive nationally. Cfb is dead. Eat arbys.
In other words If you're not top 3 or 4 there's a 98% chance nobody has actually "scouted" anybody on your commitment list
LMAO The very subjective and stupid star system is no longer in fashion. Instead, the very subjective grade system is what’s important.
That's not at all what I said. the range in what equals a 4* is now extremely wide. The #1 four star player in the country (35 Overall) has a rating of .9832 The last four star (409 overall) has a rating of .8903 So yeah, saying Team X has ten 4 star recruits compared to 7 for team Y could mean absolutely jack shit when all 7 of team Y's have grades> .95 and team X's are all <.91 Yea, it's all subjective, but using player rating gives way more context than just saying "We got more 4*s than you"
By the looks of him, I believe it. My roommate had a class with Jarvis Moss. He legitimately struggled to write a complete sentence.
If the difference is that pronounced, recruiting services should probably add a sixth star and split the four stars in half. I don’t think there have been studies on the differences between the four star tiers in the way I’ve seen between blue chips and 3 stars and below.
If *s wasn't anything more than a marketing ploy, they would cap 4*s at like 100 giving us 130-150 blue chip recruits and 3* would be the catch all for everyone else who is a P5 caliber recruit. But having a wide range for 4* allows casual fans to say "Fuck yeah, we have 18 Four Star recruits committed. GO TEAM X. TAKE MY MONEY 247!!!"
While I agree that a top 100 player is clearly better, in this context it comes across more as a justification for Miami having so as many three stars in comparison to the rest of the current top 10 ranked teams (with the excuse being there is not much difference between a high three star and low four star).
I love how 2 seconds after you call me smooth brained, you prove my point exactly. UM has 9 commits graded above .93. UF has 6. Of UF's 18 Four star recruits, 5 of them have sub .9 grades If you combined UM and UFs classes it would look like this at the top UM-.9958 UM-.9801 UM-.9774 UM-.9717 UF-.9664 UF-.9658 UM-.9637 UM-.9487 UM-.9433 UM-.9407 UM-.9354 UF-.9391 UF-.9377 UF-.9339 UF-.9309 So yeah, if you just look at the star totals, you get a very innaccurate picture of what is already a very innacurate picture. Obligatory Ed Reed was a 2*
you missed 4 other kids ranked higher than 18 of your 20 commits got A LOT OF MEH in that gator class huh Gators- our class is 90% MEH!
again, why IMO grade>Stars. Let's use Miami as an example. UM has a bunch of high end prospects mixed in with their 3* guys. Which would you rather have, a class that has 9 legit blue chip prospects and 3* filler or a class that has a bunch of guys in the low 4* range? To me, you can't make that determination just looking at the stars. If we want to play the justification game, your argument seems like a way to justify UF's class of a bunch of low end 4*s that is more quantity than quality. Now you have made me do WAY more research into recruiting than I have done in like 5+ years. So damn you.
And yet your per player average is just a hair above ours. And that’s with Mauigoa in your class and Cormani not yet in our class. Wild stuff.
Not sure why you did any research since I already agreed that a top 100 four star is better than a top 300 four star. I’m not justifying UF’s class at all. When he was hired I said Napier needs a top ten class or it will be deemed a failure. At this point he’s lost out on first choices like Rashada and Bryant. Just glad the Plan B’s have jumped aboard. Offensive line recruiting is underwhelming though.
