whole bunch of random west coast and southern 3 stars are going to get like $75K+ from schools to finish their classes
And the you bust and the transfer portal is saturated and no good school is taking an unproven kid with 3 years left when they can fill it with a hs recruit
Especially if we see more of this and the boosters try to insert more power and safeguards into the process.
The Braden lenzy interview from today is great. Basically said it’s the first year he has a release package for press. LOL
what a fucking waste. Del is shooting up the most hated coach list for me. He surpassed jeff Quinn a little while ago
Loy saying nd told keeley they are completely moving on and are going to fill his spot if he takes ovs. Seems less than ideal as an approach but they don’t want anyone else thinking they can take ovs for fun. Ok done posting about this kid who will be the next Ben Martin/guy who went to cal/Beal
New nbc deal to be announced today per Sampson. 60/year and shifting the schedule to a more b10focus.
I get the counterpoint, but the Dante situation screwed them. I get the difference between a public commit and a supposed silent, but either way, they need to ensure they have edge covered in this class. That's going to take time, effort and at least one scholarship spot, if not two. I understand them not wanting to waste those on a kid that they now feel may be a lost cause. I can't imagine they wouldn't take him back if he had a change of heart early in the season, but they can't risk slow playing the next options like they did with Dante. The next group needs to feel the love.
So if we’re getting 60 from nbc and about 15-20 from ACC, that’s $75-80 per year. If b1g is getting $100, that’s not terrible but will be interesting to see how that all plays out
they just make up the difference by considering games against Marshall “premium” and charging $115 to sit in the upper corners
Watch ND cancels the Bama and A&M series and replaces them with Michigan games this would be really valuable to NBC
nah think about it, it’s just two games now USC is in the deal already, plus 6/7 home games. They just need to flip one of ND’s games to get almost the entire season on NBC. The ACC deal is a non starter so they will go after the SEC games and maybe even Stanford to ultimately hurt ESPN Shit ND might just switch Stanford to UCLA
Pretty good. Keeps independence. Not great. My guess is temporary until longer term path (Big10) is clear/forced.
Coach d confirming that ND has a very strong NIL game once on campus and hints that no one is talking about it in detail intentionally. Says multiple recruits turned down high six-figure deals knowing they will make more at nd.
Spoiler: Dl quotes (DE) JUSTIN ADEMILOLA ON TACKLES JOE ALT AND BLAKE FISHER “They’re both first round picks. They bring it every day. I know for sure I’m making them better. I’m getting them ready to play the best D-ends in the country. They’re getting me to play one of the best OT’s in the country (Zach Harrison). They’re now coached by the best and led by the best in J-Patt (Jarrett Patterson). They know the standard and now they play for one of the best coaches in the country.” ADEMILOLA ON (OL-COACH) HARRY HIESTAND “Now you have five guys on the same page calling out blitzes, bringing the fire to the point of attack. It’s ‘Big on Big.’ Coach Freeman says we’ll only go as far as our O-Line and D-Line, and the whole D-Line, the whole O-Line, we have that dog mindset.” (DE) ISAIAH FOSKEY ON COMBATTING BETTER TECHNIQUE FROM AN OT “It just makes us better. They're really, really good O-linemen, especially for the age. It's just always fun to go against them. I don't know if you saw today, but Blake Fisherbasically pushed me on the ground in pass pro. He got a good little punch. That's a credit to Hiestand, though (laughs). It was over there in one-on-one's. Good thing you didn't catch it. Asked if that kind of rep ever happened last season, Foskey noted, “Nah, not like that.” FOSKEY ON THE BEST ACTOR IN THE HANGOVER PARODY “A lot of people are saying (Michael) Mayer—all he did was fall.” FOSKEY ON (DE) ALEXANDER EHRENSBERGER “I don’t know if he told you but he was like 220 (as a freshman), now he’s like 260. Basically when he first came here we just clicked. Me, JD (Bertrand), and him, that’s why we’re all roommates now. His play from last year to now has (elevated). He’s using his hands more, getting off blocks, pass rush has increased a whole bunch. That’s because of Coach Wash. He’s going to be a defensive end that makes plays. You’re going to see him a lot on the field.” (DT/NT) HOWARD CROSS ON (NT/DT) JACOB LACEY “Personally, I think I’m sticking with the 3 (DT) and he’s going to nose, but Coach Washington is making sure we know both by heart, so we can be interchangeable depending on who we play.” (DT) JAYSON ADEMILOLA ON CROSS AND LACEY “What makes Howie good is he has fast get-off and his punch. He’s very quick and he can make plays at any given moment. As a matter of fact, he can take over the game…and he’s from New Jersey. We’re from the same conference. He’s been doing that – Gatorade Player of the Year. Howie, he’s a beast. “Lacey is the same way. Lacey is quick with his hands. Good get-off. You can’t move him off the ball. Very athletic.” D-LINE COACH AL WASHINGTON ON CROSS AND LACEY “They work at it. What I see in them and love is how hard they strain. They’re both relatively quick-twitch. They’re both—I don’t want to say sawed-off—but both about 6’2” relatively compact frames. They both bring a similar game., something unique to the table. They’re dependable, driven. Those are two of the most dependable guys that we have.” WASHINGTON ON NT CHRIS SMITH “I call him a Rhino. He’s like Mark Henry (wrestler) in there. He’s a beast man. He’s a fire hydrant, hard to move. Very intelligent. I tell him, ‘there’s never an excuse for an ‘MA’ for you. Ever’ with a Harvard degree. The guys have embraced him but he’s a hard worker, humble, and he will help us. He’s that strong. (35 reps of 225). Everything about him. Neck. He’s a big boy.” CROSS ON SMITH “First and foremost, Chris is probably one of the strongest humans I’ve ever seen. He put up like 35 reps on 225. Absolute beast. On nose, he just can’t be moved. Massive. He’s settling in great. The D-Line loves him. He’s a really big human being. Extremely strong.” CROSS ON CENTER JARRETT PATTERSON “The thing with Jarrett is, you do one thing and he’ll figure it out immediately. You can’t do the same thing twice. He’ll beat it. Especially with the double teams, I figured out a way that he has a tell that allows me to understand when they’re double-teaming me or scooping me that I can better prepare for it. “Everybody has a tell. It’s about trying to find it. I’ve been studying film specifically looking for stuff. Anything that will tell me what they’re doing or where they’re leaning. But then he beats it the next time.” JAYSON ADEMILOLA ON COACHES AL GOLDEN, DELAND MCCULLOUGH, AND JAMES LAURINAITIS “Everything we do, everything (Golden) teaches, in all of our meetings, it’s NFL tape. We’re working the techniques. He’s showing us how to play football at the highest level. And it’s not just Coach Golden. Even with our new running backs coach (McCollough), our new linebacker coach (Laurinaitis), these are NFL guys who have been around at the highest level. They’re showing us how to be a pro at an early age. “For the young guys on this team, getting coached by these guys and feeling the energy, we’re all getting trained to be professionals. You can say we’re professionals now because that’s how we come to work each and every day with that mindset.” JAYSON ADEMILOLA ON JASON ONYEAND GABRIEL RUBIO “Jason Onye is getting better every day and Gabe Rubio, oh my God, they’re beasts. They’re the future. These guys come in every day and kick ass. I get so excited watching them practice. Tyson Ford as well. It’s really the whole D-line. We love to come to work and get better every day.” WASHINGTON ON DT TYSON FORD “He's good. He's coming along. He's like, 280 now. Big kid. He's a fine athlete. So you're right now we've been working (inside). You never know what could happen (asked if he could play outside).” WASHINGTON ON ROVER/VYPER JORDAN BOTELHO “JB has had a really strong start. He’s played at the Rover and had experience at the Vyper, more on third down. Now we’re kind of playing him around a little more at the Vyper. He still does some Rover. He’s been dependable, trying to do the little things. He’s talented for sure. He’s a guy that knows the defense a little bit to put it in perspective playing two spots.” WASHINGTON ON FRESHMAN VYPER JOSH BURNHAM “He’s another one that’s working at both. Today he did a little of both. Josh has some experience at linebacker; has some strength to him. That’s the beautiful thing about our defense, guys can have multiple roles. The skill sets aren’t too foreign. That helps add depth.” WASHINGTON ON (SDE) RYLIE MILLS “The closest guy to (Mills), I’d say Zach Allenat BC. He’s another big-bodied guy. But Rylie is unique in that he’s a little longer and for as big as he is, to see him move, he’s talented inside and outside, and he’s intelligent. You can do a lot with him. I can’t say there are too many guys like Rylie.” ADEMILOLA ON MILLS “Rylie definitely has taken a big step this year mentally. Becoming a smarter player. Freshman and sophomore year, it’s all about getting reps. As you get older, once you start connecting the formations, line stunts, tendencies…we’re pickup up (stuff) that the coaches are talking about. He’s really smart mentally in camp.
It could all be smoke but every player interview is gushing about the new coaches which I don’t think has happened for the last 14 years
it's clear that is the guaranteed upfront $$ that's kicking ND in the butt right now with regards to NIL ND won't play in that arena and all the top recruits are being offered crazy $$ so it's hard to turn down a guarantee vs a promise
UM has some big time ooc games coming up too, this would suck if both schools cancel these games to play each other. Need to play one another more but not every year. I dont buy that nbc could dictate the um and nd schedules like that, especially since um is an equal revenue sharing situation.
hopefully it’s either made clearly legal or after a year or two it’s known that those deals are “guaranteed”
just wait until the first round of bought and paid for kids transfer taking their NIL money with them and the shit storm that ensues. it's going to be hilarious.
This dude calls them 100/0 balls because no DB can go 50/50 with him? Give me that swag over Hannafin falling for Daboism's any day of the week
This is fake news. So much circle jerking when Weis and Killy started before their first game etc. Lets not discuss the Tenuta and BVG love before they ever coached a game. Every school gushes over the new coach and staff circle jerk, especially the new strength and conditioner coach. Than they play the game and air comes out of the balloon with very few exceptions.
Shaun Davis (Lucky Lefty Podcast) said he thinks Jermiyah Love commits to ND in the next couple of days
Just finished the first episode from the Manti doc on Netflix. The whole story is crazier than I realized, and I'll never forget being out at a bar and seeing the ESPN ticker saying Lennay was fake. Definitely worth a watch...
