At this point, if you hold this opinion, you're saying it's impossible for the Republicans to win the presidency (outside of vote count shenanigans). He's going to be the nominee if it isn't trump and it has to be something nearing a coin toss on him winning

Hell some state (maybe Florida) prosecuted & convicted someone under similar circumstances after the state's own voter outreach representative said it was ok to vote. I believe the conviction was eventually overturned, but as the saying goes "the cruelty is the point" and these circus shows are only publicized to muddy the waters when it comes to voting eligibility.

As someone who greatly enjoyed Win Ben Stein's Money as a youth, I find the revelation of him being a racist dickhead to be incredibly disappointing.

Unfortunately, the law to reinstate felons voting rights excluded those convicted of murders and sexual offenses. Besides the poll tax part where they tried blocking people with outstanding fees and fines, this further splitting of hairs muddies the waters just that much more.

Suffice it to say, you do the time, you deserve your rights back (or never should have them taken in the first place). If you’re gonna tax me, you damn well better let me have a say in how that representative government who legislates over me is constituted.

Floridians voted to restore the right to vote to ex-cons and the Florida GOP still pretends their constitution wan’t modified to do exactly that and are now arresting people for voting when their constitution says they can.

Oh, that reminds me- De Santis also responding to the teacher shortage in FL by allowing military vets and their spouses (based solely on the virtue of being married to a service member) to become teachers, with no formal training beyond a high school diploma or equivalent.

 

And then defended it by saying that people with “real world experience” who are proficient in math should be teaching instead of people who went to some school that teaches them to teach. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe how dumb this man is.

 

His “parental rights” bullshit has its biggest effects in how teachers are treated in Florida and it’s only going to get worse. As if parents needed more reasons to be assholes to teachers

 

But if they’re anything like most Tennessee secondary and elementary school teachers, they’ll still vote Republican in every election.

 

He also signed the law granting civil immunity to some dipshits who mow down protesters in their cars.
