Weather permitting, I'm putting a TV on my deck and hoping like hell my OSU alum next door neighbor is watching somewhere else. We get along. I don't want to risk that over silly outbursts over a silly game.
Is this the same as "High Beck"? My buddy said we're meeting his OSU friends for drinks there after Sycamore
Whichever team covers the spread, the other fanbase needs to use the bulletin board material quotables from the other side as their tagline for the rest of the regular season
If Ohio State covers, every Notre Dame fan must change their avatar to some picture of Brian Kelly for a week. If Notre Dame covers, we change avatars to __________.
Beck Tavern also goes by "Low Beck" and as DJ Bosa said, it's different than High Beck which is at the corner of High St and Beck - awfully clever.
I Prefer High Beck for the methy 40 yr olds that are always on the patio chain smoking. They have always been down to bum a cig to drunk me in the past. We rented High Beck out for New Year’s Eve the year OSU got boatraced by Clemson- pretty sure I smoked a pack that night on the patio, was a nice time My preference for bars is Zenos, Hey Hey, and Short North Tavern for those wondering and I know you were
I wanted to but my wife is 6 months pregnant now so she vetoed it, however happy to help organize a happy hour
Park at 3rd and Perry in the new builds alley, walk the olentangy trail to the stadium. Free parking- 13 min walk there’s room for 40 cars to park back there no tag needed easy access to 670 or 315
Completely anecdotal, but it seems like a lot of people are going to this pre-game without having tickets. I have three nephews in their 20’s, none whom went to OSU, just going up for the Gameday scene. My wife and I are meeting up with two of my former room mates and a room mate of my wife, but we’re the only ones with tickets right now.
I was just kidding. I always park at the 9th Avenue and Neil Avenue garage because no one knows how to get across the Olantangy when they shut down the bridges from 5th Avenue to North Broadway. I head up Neil from Goodale and the garage is usually still filling up while everything north of Lane is a complete circus. It also saved an hour getting home rather than being stuck north of Lane.
This is my fear. My buddy is thinking we're (group of 4) just going to easily bop around Out-r Inn and some of the other bars really easily, and I keep telling him that for thousands of people their actual game experience will be holding down tables at places like that for 10 hours so we aren't going to be able to just swing in and drinks wherever we please super easily. He kept on saying "this isn't South Bend, we have non-stop bars and restaurants for miles, you can't go a block without someone selling a hamburger and beer on gameday" but we'll see. There's an ND Club of Columbus tailgate that has unlimited beer and burgers for like $40 or something and I told him just getting a couple of those tickets in our back pocket might not be a bad idea in case we can't get in anywhere, and he acted offended I would dare question his pre-game prowess. Told him this isn't 2-4 Illinois.
I would bet there are at a min 50k+ ppl without tickets on gameday within two miles of the stadium for this event
Just get to the bars in the early afternoon and you'll be able to get in. By mid afternoon they'll all be packed.
Out-R-Inn will be way too crowded to enjoy. Every 50+ year old and under alum trying to relive college days will try to stop there, in addition to their normal crowd. Hit it really early if going there. There are non stop bars. You find somewhere.
Fuck the Out-R-Inn. They denied me saying my ID was phony like 7 years ago. I was 24, 25. The bouncer had just let in 5 of my friends all with out of state IDs. I think he was fucking with me. Some of my friends asked the bouncer to let me in and vouched for me, but the guy wouldn't change his mind. I was definitely only like the 4th drunkest out of my friend group. When my now wife found out via my friends, she said then let's leave and poured her beer out. Short sighted that someone would have to clean that up unrelated to the bouncer? Yes. Ride or die? Also yes.
The 1995 game did feature a guy who stripped naked and streaked on to the field. We had a nice trilogy of streakers for the 1992 Michigan, 1994 Michigan and 1995 Notre Dame games. The 1992 streaker struck a Heisman Pose, naked, and stopped the Michigan band’s halftime show.
