100% correct. I had buddies at the game texting me asking why it was waved off. I had no response until they replayed it.
Eric The Viking I think last year I said your boy would wear #1. Man, after today I’m ready for a goalie to wear that shit. And that is no disrespect to him because he has game but what Logan did this weekend was insane.
PLL season starts tomorrow afternoon https://premierlacrosseleague.com/ I’m a much bigger fan of college than pro, but I still enjoy watching these guys play at the next level
Not surprising he got a HC job. I can’t imagine Maryland won’t just keep on trucking, but I’ll be curious to see their next move
Was there when he texted Malever about it. Tillman will without a doubt replace him with another great coach.
Funny, the guys were all so pissed when Tillman brought him on, since he was a Hopkins guy. Wonder how the Hopkins fans feel about Coach Benson after he helped the Terps win a title?
good one going on espn2 right now. redwoods (ND) vs. whipsnakes (MD). 6-5 heading into the 2nd half and there were just competing unsportsmanlike penalties with less than a second to go in the half
A great game. Baptiste has a hamstring injury that prevented him from being able to run basically, but kept facing off
Perhaps the best weekend in pro lacrosse yet. 3.75 great games, with the 4th quarter yet to go in the last game of the weekend in Minneapolis. 7-6 whipsnakes over waterdogs
The youth club lacrosse scene is wild. From what I can gather the landscape has changed pretty significantly over the past 10-15 years but would be interested to hear everyone’s experience….
It’s a crazy money grab for the most part & players move from club to club based off where their parents think they will only win instead of growth as a team leading to success. We’ve won some tournaments & taken absolute beatings in others, put it’s all part of the process of life lessons. If you find a club your kid likes & they teach the way you like I say stick with it
As someone who coached in the club scene and has a daughter in it, it’s a total cash grab. Tourneys, clubs, etc. It’s sad how many parents think Tommy and Jenny are going to get full rides to UVA or Duke. At best, they get partials to St Leo or Rollins or Mt Olive. They spend 30k over 5 or 6 years just to get to to send the kid to some super expensive D2 school no one has ever heard of. And then they have to foot the difference of tuition which is almost 30k for some liberal arts school. They’d be better off letting the kid have fun in high school , go to a state uni and play club. The dream is a joke.
There’s no such thing as a full ride in lax. It’s definitely a sport for kids whose parents have money. I know Florida has Sweet Lax and I’ve trained some kids who played for them. They tend to get more looks from colleges than kids who play for glorified rec leagues, but the amount that parents pay to be a part of that organization and to travel with them, is crazy.
PLL practicing at our fields while in Dallas. Pretty cool for the kids to be so close & able to watch them work
Just an insane game in espn tonight. The two worst tans in the league playing maybe the game of the year
Facing Canada? I know Pat kavanaugh and Liam entenmann from ND are playing, but haven’t caught a game yet. I believe the game Saturday is espn+?
Think the game is 2pm on ESPN U. Rematch against Canada who we beat 7-5 earlier in the tournament but it doesn’t sound like we played great.
Great win. I know he had a really good year at Cornell, but I don’t think I realized how good cj kirst is. Had 5 in the first half today
Still not sure how that goal went in at the half. Hope Kavanaugh is okay, awful cheap shot to end the game.
Under 10 seconds left, USA killing time, he launches it into the atmosphere and gets cross checked in the head well after the ball is gone. Definitely shaken up, hopefully not a concussion.
