also had a Stihl string trimmer put on hold by police yesterday. The damn thing was stolen 2 years ago in South Fla. I can guarantee this wasnt the first owner since it was stolen. So the guy we gave a $100 to doesnt get his item back but wont have to pay us back the $100 we loaned him and we lose the string trimmer to it's original owner. It's going to cost the police more to transport it home than what the fucking thing is worth.
serial number. They're is a central database for all pawns in the country that all pawnshops use to submit whats came in each day that all police dept have access to
Figured there was a central database but that’s wild that something worth so little is in there. Do you have to track every thing you receive?
What was that blackstar loaded with? I assume you have to know a little bit about everything in your job
just bought one of these Shure Model 51 Mic's from the 60's untested for $50. if it works it's worth $200 if not $70-100
3 times. first was someone stole a crain and rammed it in the front of our store and got nothing, 2nd time was done by a pro got passed a steel door and got 15kish in jewelry and was in and out in less than a minute. third was broken glass door and nothing more
there's a side steel door thats and emergency exit. on the security camera he goes straight to the jewelry case smashes the glass grabs a couple boxes of rings and takes off in less than a minute. he did cut himself on the glass and there was blood that was taken as a sample but the case was never solved. My guess is he took it straight to miami and melted it down by a shady refinery.
