Yes, you are. That's not how government funding works. It might sound weird and its very counterintuitive to how we view personal finances. The difference is in this scenario, where you are the government and dbl is the tax payer, you dont need dbl to pay so you can wipe out the debt. The government is funded by congress appropriating funds, not by collecting taxes. These funds were already appropriated and paid to the universities. We are not reliant on tax revenue to do so.
While they raise this point in the worst of bad faiths, there is a kernel of truth. Tuitions did shoot up the we decided "hey, since we kind of created this social stratification that requires a college degree, the inability to pay shouldnt prevent anyone's access to college". While this debt forgiveness is 100% the correct move, it's a bandaide. They need to address the rising costs of college. Yes it should be free, but that's not realistic in the short term. They need to figure out something

not to get too in the weeds but he basically solved Tiktoks algorithm. he last i knew didn't even have his own account but bought and ran seemingly hundreds of accounts that shared his video clips and all co-interacted with each other causing him to get elevated all across the space. after that it just spread to other platforms. who then banned him not long after
