Meh. There's nothing deranged about it. I'm not all that worked up about it, frankly. The reality is that the MAGA hat is a modern hate symbol. There's eleventy-billion themes to choose from for a birthday party. A seemingly fond allusion to a highly charged political hate theme is pretty analogous. Edited to add: and not to lose the point on this. She's bitching about other people making "an innocent birthday" out to be political. My point is that no, "other people" didn't make it political.
