Let them continue their ritual mating combat. Then take a bunch of pics and videos and be appreciative of how lucky I was to witness something like that.
Jake Scott take a look at this Mediterranean gecko. I miss the hell out of these little guys hanging around my porch lights.
Probably exactly whoever is holding this camera did. Hell I'd be more concerned about all that thunder than those snakes.
They’re cool little exotics that have minimal impact on local ecosystems, unlike say brown anoles. Super fun to watch hunting around porch lights while drinking beer and doing whatever else you may be doing at those hours.
You know I love those things way more than I should. I watch them at night every time I go to my moms in Jax Beach. They’re thriving down there.
Owsley watched his recent video. One of my favs all time https://www.instagram.com/reel/CiDzfdypALQ/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= that thing is pretty cool
Probably should have re-phrased to "where is that picture?" That snake and the surrounding terrain do not look very Georgia, or anywhere in the SE for that matter.
Last night... https://ring.com/share/e66d0faf-3de1-4a4f-b92c-f310713aa212 https://ring.com/share/5149ae6e-6ded-4219-889d-c4780a3e684a
We found a snake earlier INSIDE the house and I put in the front yard. A little bitty thing. My wife thinks there's a big nest out there and the momma was pissed
Was working in Macon, GA today doing some fish shocking. We got a handful of American eels, approximately 165 miles from the coast and a further 1,000 miles from their breeding grounds in the Sargasso Sea. Pics are on my coworker’s phone, but I’ll add some tomorrow. Nature is fucking wild, man.
Apparently there used to be eels up here on the Chauga until dams on the Tugaloo stopped their migration.
Do you ever see old eel weirs that far south? There are quite a few old Native American eel weirs in Eastern PA and the NY border that are still in the rivers/streams.
I show my sons all this cool shit you post and educate us on in this thread. Time for a TMB sponsored nature show with Owsley and Snoop Dog
There's just no way i could do that. All it takes is a tiny fuck up or involuntary twitch and, boom, dead.
