I was living in Eugene when Obama was running. Eugene is one of the most liberal places in the US. Yes, the town was jazzed when he spoke at Mac Court, but I never saw anything even remotely close to the fanatical following Trump has. Its always projection with Trump supporters.

Liberals have an inflated opinion of Obama that was worse when he was in office. That is a true statement and there's a discussion to be had about that. But comparing it to the right wing's propensity to worship an authoritarian strongman is pretty laughable

let’s say the two were exactly the same which I don’t believe but for sake of argument let’s say they were. The huge difference is that one symbolized hope it gave POC a belief that things might get better. Unfortunately, that belief was wrong.
