Yeah it’s Mario fault that Gattis didn’t target our TEs in the redzone or at all in the first half. I’m sure he went to Gattis and said “hey our wr suck so just keep attempting pass plays to them or run the ball but do not… do not try and create plays for our TEs.”
Reading this article this week definitely made me feel less confident about our passing game working once it was announced X was hurt.
You guys are getting the full Gattis experience early it seems. I liked him quite a bit last year tbf but it was also his outlier season at Michigan so I don’t know what to expect moving forward.
Van Dyke reminds me a bit of Jeff Driskel in terms of his personality. Doesn’t really rally the troops or show any outward leadership. Then when a fuck up happens he just goes to the bench and sits by himself.
He’s a placeholder for Garcia/Rashada. He put up huge numbers last year in a pass-heavy offense against crap competition and everyone was comparing him to Justin Herbert
We have three years of statistical evidence that Bo Nix is a below average college QB. He’s remarkably consistent at it. We have one year of evidence that TVD is a really good college QB. Now if you want to argue that Mario is a QB killer, there’s plenty of narrative behind that.
And Nix would have put up gaudy numbers in Lashlee’s one dimensional offense last year too. There’s nothing to ‘kill’ with TVD. He just isn’t very good
Mario/Gattis should charged with a crime for not putting Thad in when we’re in the redzone. Guy falls forward and picks up those tough yards.

I wish I cared as much about a coach I thought sucked as much as Oregon fans care about Mario. But Ive also never been really smug about a coach that I think sucks leaving the program I root for either so maybe it’s just me.
Oh I don’t think Oregon fans think we are better off. We just didn’t want to have to go through a new coach for the 5 time in 6 years or whatever the stupid number is. You guys got a great one tho! Seems to really stay out of his staffs way, develops his players, and has all of the small details buttoned up!
I'd guess because y'all played Bethune Cookman that week so there wasn't much to glean from that game.
It’s just us sharing our misery with others. I didn’t want Mario to leave, he’s a good CEO. But you will start to hate his in game coaching a lot.
You have no idea of the type of ineptitude I have had to endure for over two decades on the sidelines. Also Butch was one of the worst game day coaches I could remember I I’d give up my right to have children to have that freckle face mother fucker in his prime on the Miami sidelines again. Besides what Mario and Tyrion have done with the Miami offensive line already has me in shock. Not watching a Miami qb throwing from his back all game or RB running into the ass of their offensive line for the first time in 20 years is a breath of fresh . Get the trenches right and the skill players will come.
Best we looked in the trenches in a long time. Insane how quickly that happened. Defense looked competent and competitive. Really felt on the level for the first time in a while. Lotta arrogance and foolishness by the special teams and offensive staff. More nervous about Gattis than anything else.
When Tyrique jumped to catch a punt last week that bounced was the tell that he was to damn wreckless to be on returns. Special teams were so damn good the first two weeks too and completely fell apart in every possible way in the same game smh. Not to mention TAMU having the best ST luck from their punter having 100 punts make the craziest bounce to pin us in the 10. Or them muffing a punt and recovering it even though the entire Miami punt team was around him (fucking Blades is such a discredit to his old man smh)

That was the first prime time night game on the road/neutral site where we didn’t get physically bulldozed all game long since like Lane Stadium ‘05 that was a nice change for once
Line of scrimmage was actually super promising Don’t see why it shouldn’t handle the majority of ACC play
2nd and 30, taking full play clock in the 4th while down, and being scared we might do a designed run with TVD is just a wild thought to have to process during that game.
I dont think that Mario sucks as a CEO, I think that he sucks as micromanager. There were stories of him calling the graphics people at 2am telling them to make a better hype video for upcoming games/recruits. It was that way across the board. Mario does a good job recruiting and general program building, he just needs to really lean in the CEO role and trust the people he has hired to get the job done. Also fuck yeah I'm bitter and I want him to fail, sue me.
