Right now I’m more excited about which QB we might get in the portal than I am about the rest of the season Spoiler we probably won’t take a QB from the portal
This is like a prizefight between the first two fighters in Mike Tyson’s Punchout. Will the team that can’t move the ball stick to their guns and make their punter a star or will the team that can’t cover their own shadow keep up their colander like defense?
Yes. This is the truth. Tommy can't protect Pyne indefinitely with short, safe 5 yd tosses. The run game should soften things up a bit and take some pressure off but he'll need to use play action and take some shots down field to keep them honest. Our OL needs to bring it this weekend. No soft bullshit or stupid penalties. If we fail to establish a run game, it'll be lights out early.
We should honestly send that to every recruit, though, in our pitches to them -Most watched game in college football 2 out of 3 weekends this season (that list might be missing TAMU/Miami though?) -Non-primetime, non rivalry matchups when we're unranked still get more viewers then top 25 matchups
I don't see anything wrong with how he answered. If you're done with him general, that's fair. But his answer seemed pretty even keel.
I'm Team "Hope Tommy Does Really Well This Fall, We Go 10-2 And Win a NYD Bowl Game, Carr Enrolls Early, And Tommy Settles In Nicely In Charlotte As The Panthers' OC In 4 Months"
Hear me out... Sunday thru Friday: OC Tom Rees Saturday: OC Chip Long Chip does nothing but recruit and call plays on gameday.
Honestly, I don’t think Rees is THIS bad of a play caller, he calls plays to the talent he has… that he recruited and developed.
I kinda figure that Rees is still learning on the job. He is probably really good at a lot of things that go into coaching. I just think his craft as a play caller isn't savant level like these young guys in the NFL, nor has he had an apprenticeship to learn under someone else. Rees should watch film of what LaFleur did last Sunday night with Jones/Dillon and a bunch of mediocre wideouts and just spam the shit out of those plays
*if* this UNC defense is going to even marginally turn things around this year, you'd expect this would be the week you start seeing it coming out of the bye not that I have much confidence in that happening, but a sliver of hope is still there with the amount of talent on paper
If UNC shuts down ND, I think it will say more about the ineptitude of Rudy Pyne and the ND offense. But for your sake, I hope it works out for you if that happens.
They're going to have to load up on portal WRs until they prove to recruits they will feature WRs. I'd expect all WR recruits to leave and I don't blame them.
yeah that's what makes this game so interesting, when push comes to shove I trust your lines more than ours though
yes but the presumption was he was going to bama. he recently set ANOTHER visit to OSU. something he would (and should) flex about IMO but it wouldn't be the first time i was wrong today so who the fuck knows.
sure but he should’ve posted it in the Bama thread :) I read fast at work, my bad. I will do my fucking job better next time
true but it would be much more exciting to talk shit to us, knowing full well he's not coming here than talking shit in the bama thread and get egg on his face if/when he goes there.
