I’d kill to have Arroyo or Moorhead 6+ypp offense right now. Y’all keep acting like this is some Mario hindering the offense stuff but this offense is averaging like 4 ypp. Mario Oregon offense at least had some explosive plays in it this Gattis offense is on par with Dan Enos offense.
Yikes. What is the issue you think? I haven't watch much of you guys outside of the 2nd half of the A&M game. At Oregon, the issue with Mario/Arroyo/Moorhead offense's is that we didn't stretch the field with dynamic RPO and that Mario fucking LOVED running our RBs into the A gap... right into the guards asshole most of the time. Granted, we always had a pretty solid O line and while subsequently lacking breakout skill players, but we were constantly at 3rd and 6ish because the first two plays were such short gains due to the play design. It would put unnecessary 3rd down pressure on our bad QBs and forced them to make plays (hint: they couldn't).
I believe I read that Miami is top 10 in success rate but is the toilet for explosive plays. Gattis has us trying to get to the end zone 4 yards at a time. We have WRs running routes 2 yards short. TVD can’t call an audible. It’s too slow. Injuries are really adding up now.
partially crappy wrs who cant create separation or catch, partially a qb with the yips that cant accurately throw a 5 yard out pass consistently, mostly Gattis. Everything Michigan fans said about him not being involved much in their offense seems to be true. Outside of flea flickers we don't even attempt to throw a pass downfield. All of our routes are basically 3 man routes so defenses are able to just play zone and pass wrs off to the next man which we make very easy for them to do. MTSU covered a two man route on a critical 4th down play with 1 guy. Thats how bad our WR coach is at teaching kids how to run routes. Unfortunately he's also the OC so there is no one there to correct him bec Mario is just a big lug OL coach that has no idea about offense.
enough to generate over 6 ypp which better than....wait for it............ what Trashlee offense did at Miami and I know he had explosive plays. That is why Cane fans are crying for the days of HB dive plays, but keep doing you Mario has earned the egg thats on his face right now.
so Gattis needs to stop being a twat and sit down with Tyler and make the offense super simple for him like Rhett did after the UNC game or just move forward with Jake and go through the ups and downs of a young QB. Smh why did Mario hire such an incompetent OC.
I remember specifically questioning the hire of cristobal he planned on running that bullshit offense he ran at Oregon that made one of the best QB's in the NFL look average as fuck. He lied like a fucking asshole then turned around and hired Gattis. Unfortunately they've put so much money into this bullshit it either works or it doesn't. All I'll say is conservatism doesn't work in football anymore. Prime examples of this the fucking Miami Dolphins last year vs this year. UCF pre frost and post Heupel is another example. You gotta be aggressive on offense when you have the horses. Even saban figured that shit the fuck out. If you aren't you're fucking yourself. I'm thankful I've only really had to watch this abomination of a team once this year due to do being so busy these 5 year rebuilds when there's no real need for that shit gets old. If you're incapable of taking what you have and making it somewhat work well enough to beat an insanely bad MTSU team you're a shit coach. Diaz had a couple losses this bad in year 1 and I said they should've just fucking fired him then. Can't really do that here so good luck I guess and we'll see what happens. At least Diaz had the excuse of being a first year coach. Cristobal has no such excuses but he has the program by the fucking balls financially
Not protecting Gattis/Mario but we really don't have the horses. I get that Lashlee simplified the offense for TVD last year (who clearly is a potato) but less we forget your weekly rages when Lashlee continued to run the inside draw without fail and TVD had to throw the ball times a game because we were one of the worst rushing attacks in CFB. Having Rambo and Harley there also made life easier. It's clear that TVD's success was a flash in the pan and the kid absolutely blows dick. Garcia immediately had success when he came in on Saturday, so not saying that Gattis' offense is without criticism, but it's clear that we don't have the bodies on the roster.
Would’ve been the same with Lashlee. Hated him for all those damn inside zone reads on 3rd/4th and short, but his easy passing concepts made up for it. Gattis broke our shit good
Still can’t believe that mouth breather psychopath tried to say Miami didn’t have the horses to beat MTSU lol. That’s elite level bootlicking in defense of a head coach who shit himself on national television despite being one of the highest paid coaches in the country
This is gonna be a very rough year. I hope everyone has accepted that and killed any real expectations they had
Who exactly will be throwing it deep????? I don’t know if you noticed but Miami doesn’t have an offense this year. Wake has the best offense in the confrence
We literally can’t stop a Sun Belt offense (or score on one). Not sure how we’ll all of a sudden figure it out against better completion
I seem to remember losing to Jacksonville state last year. Like then, there's really not much of a gap between us. We could easily be 2-3 right now.
We went back to Enos, but now we have a head coach who isn’t open minded about how terrible the offense is
He'd be a great hire for Wisconsin or Nebraska. Imagine having access to some of the best athletes on the planet at the high school level and wanting to run a ground and pound. Imagine having one of the best QB's in college football and putting him in an offense he's clearly uncomfortable running just like that NFL qb you had before. COMEDY
How many games did the spread win us last yr with way more talent on offense? love how everyone wants to ignore the 50+ three and out drives with HB dive up the middle two of the play calls with Rhett the last 2 yrs you can’t run any scheme well with trash cans at wr and your 4th/5th string RBs I’m highly doubtful Gattis is any good but at some point the talent has to be significantly upgraded or none of this scheme talk even matters posters acting like running a spread O with Redding and Brinson as your two main targets on the outside would score points is hilarious. Those dudes run with cement in their shoes and neither can catch
