If I were a coach and Del was applying for a job I’d show this list. I wouldn’t care if it was a middle school football team.
tommy rees and kelly also need to be sullied over this list, thats roster mismanagement to the felony level
it’s interesting how many players ND loses who start elsewhere- quite the roster burn the last two years
Out of those the most I am surprised with is Jack Lamb, his tape was fantastic. I think I have a fetish for athletic OLB white LB prospects though, I thought Ben Councell was going to be a stud too.
The one downside, or reason why LaFleur has given for not using two back sets more, is that if you have too much of the game plan/playbook and one gets hurt it is useless for them since they don't have a third back that would be as useful in that. ND has three useful backs now, so they could get through a game of someone got hurt in a game, but that would probably disappear if one went down.
Injuries never got out of his way. He played some for CO and did well until he got hurt again and ultimately medically retired. It’s a shame because he seemed to have great instincts.
This all sounds very similar to the chatter about Cam Biedscheid (RIP)... let's hope it works out better for everyone
So PK recognizes the play pre-snap, blows up the TE, and makes the play two yards in the backfield. Why wasn't he playing before again?
He’s not playing cuz their are older program guys ahead of him who the coaches love real lunch pail types
I'm not goin to complain about young guys not playing, we are currently using 2 true frosh CBs a lot. Who knows where these kids were 3-4 weeks ago. The important thing is do they continue to see action or do they get boxed up if they make a mistake.
We have some coaches willing to trust youngsters to contribute, and others who are willing to bench our best players for veterans because they don’t trust youngsters yet. Id like to see more of the former, and it seems to be moving in that direction over time. But we’re not all the way there yet.
When Freeman was a true freshman at OSU in 2004, we started Big Ten play 0-3 and risked even being bowl eligible. Tressel cleared the bench and burned a ton of redshirts, including Freeman. We turned it around as freshmen like Antonio Pittman and Ted Ginn took starting roles. Freeman actually redshirted in 2005 as a soph because we had two first round and a third round LB starting that year.
Or maybe the young guys are put into situations that they can succeed in when they are ready, there was a track record with Kelly but not with these guys. We will see how it shakes out.
Parents likely have some money, too, so they could be fine with paying the way. Kids profile says he’s 6’4”
pumpkin patch with the three yr old- he loved it last year so should be a good time making pizzas on the ooni, probably have some cocktails
It’s the rare time when ND has a bye and Penn State has a home game against a named opponent with decent weather. Taking the family.
Yard work and house projects and doing some cheeseburgers (as is tradition for the off week) for dinner. And I love when ND doesn’t play
Do you think the bye week will be beneficial to the team or would you prefer they played this weekend leading up to BYU?
Beneficial, for sure. The offense probably still needs plenty to figure out. They’re not fixed just because they trounced an awful defense.
lol now I have to do smash burgers, great off week tradition. This weekend is football, Halloween decorations, and smoking the largest cut of meat on sale at Meijer.
Hell if I know. There's a lot of potentially fun chaos out there to watch this week, so I'll probably keep an eye out in the event I need to tune into any. But we'll have nice fall weather, and I'm sure the wife will come up with something. One of my favorite breweries is hosting an Oktoberfest event at a big park nearby. I could see us checking that out.
Going to drive down to my parents house as my brother is visiting right now. Probably going to grill, drink a few beers and swim while their outdoor TV plays football games all day.
Let us all reflect on the fact that a hurricane is going to descend on North Carolina this weekend and we don't have to watch a Brian Kelly offense play in it.
I will probably go pick up some apples with my goddaughter, my sister, my mother and my gf. Then watch some football without having to pay attention too much. i prefer non bye weeks, nothing is more fun than nd winning early and then laugh at other programs struggle
O’Malley dropping some bombs. 1. There was a wr transfer who changed their mind last second after they let other guys go. 2. Nd thought coan had another year and fucked it up. 3. They fully expect changes to the transfer process this year “adapt or die” mentality
Lol I was just thinking last night that with Coan and a Skowronok-like transfer WR this team beats Marshall and probably is still cruising to 9-3 or 10-2, instead we’re fighting for bowl eligibility
