Probably not. exact same pre Jan 6 rhetoric from Bolsonaro. some of Trump’s team has made multiple trips to Brazil
My bad. Didn’t realize that Neymar was a supporter of the right-wing nut job. Apologies. And yes fuck me too. I deserve it.
I haven't followed any of this closely but I'm mildly surprised Bolsonaro allowed an election he might lose to happen. Figured he'd have turned the election process into a sham by now. Glad to see otherwise.
During his time in office, Lula introduced sweeping social programs including Bolsa Família and Fome Zero, aimed at combating poverty and lifting the station of the country's working class. As president, Lula played a prominent role in international matters including activities related to the nuclear program of Iran and climate change, being described as "a man with audacious ambitions to alter the balance of power among nations".[7] Succeeded by his former Chief of Staff, Dilma Rousseff, Lula left an enduring mark on Brazilian politics in the form of Lulism. He has been called one of the most popular politicians in Brazilian history and while in office was one of the most popular in the world.[8][9][10] In 2011, Lula, who was a smoker for 40 years,[11] was diagnosed with throat cancer and underwent chemotherapy, leading to a successful recovery.[12] In early 2016, Lula was appointed Chief of Staff under Rousseff, but Justice Gilmar Mendes of the Supreme Federal Court blocked the appointment due to ongoing federal investigations at the time.[13][14] In July 2017, Lula was convicted on charges of money laundering and corruption in a controversial trial, and sentenced to nine and a half years in prison. The federal judge of the case, Sergio Moro, later became Minister of Justice and Public Security in Jair Bolsonaro's government.[15] After an unsuccessful appeal, Lula was arrested in April 2018 and spent 580 days in jail.[16][17][18] Lula attempted to run in the 2018 presidential election, but was disqualified under Brazil's "Clean Slate" Law.[19] In November 2019, the Supreme Federal Court ruled that incarcerations with pending appeals were unlawful and Lula was released from prison as a result.[20] In March 2021, Supreme Court Justice Edson Fachin ruled that all of Lula's convictions must be nullified, because he was tried by a court that did not have proper jurisdiction over his case.[21] Fachin's ruling, which was confirmed by other Supreme Court Justices in April 2021, restored Lula's political rights.[22] The Supreme Federal Court ruled later in March 2021 that judge Moro who oversaw his corruption trial, was biased.[23] All of the cases Moro had brought against Lula were annulled by 24 June 2021, allowing him to run for president again in the 2022 elections
Central and South American fascists jailing/couping even moderate lefty types with the approval/support of the US is a tale as old as time iirc.
We have multiple subcontract labor crews that are Brazilian. When Brazilian politics comes up, they are pro Bolansaro and are super anti Lula. But they also claim that Brazil is corrupt and it doesn’t matter who is in charge.
Romario seems to switch sides more often than dump but guess you can do what you want when you lead the yellows to a WC victory
News seems to be all over the place on this All I know is fuck Neymar, Thiago Silva, Dani Alves, and the many other NT cunts supporting him
I mean it's a part of their religion. Wives cover up, they refuse to be photographed in public with women, etc. He literally follows the same thing as the UFC fighters from his country like Khabib.
My bad on the wording. I was basically comparing how he acts to the other public Dagestani's who follow very strict Muslim law.
Not derailing the thread about this but Wahabi/Salafist interpretation doesn't represent Islam as a whole.
Obviously I should have worded on him be from Dagestan and not based on the religion as a whole and for that I apologize.
