There used to be a guy named Josh Broadway or Broadaway on the Korn Ferry Tour who played cross handed like that
I would think it is near impossible to flip through impact. Similar to the left hand low putting grip, it takes out the right hand dominating
Day 3 of Bandon in the books. Played Trails and Bandon Dunes this first two days. Wind was relatively mild and I got around pretty well. Wind was up and got my ass kicked at Sheep Ranch today. Course was absolutely ridiculous though.
Looking for a new pair of golf shoes. I'm looking for comfort before style as I have bad feet. Any recommendations before I have to try on 100 pairs?
Andy North's bunker shot on the 17th hole in the final round of the '85 US Open is about as clutch as they come.
Yeah I loved it, just didn’t go with the right group of guys. Lot of fun holes throughout there. I don’t remember the hole numbers because we were playing team scramble. But the one with the elevated green that you’re able to putt up and the one with the zero alley approach shot were great.
I actually kind of think my trues may have caused my current foot issues, but it might be because I wore them around for a weekend as a casual shoe.
That was one of the reasons why I didn’t take many photos while I was there, just too massive to translate. Like the second picture from the bottom, makes the green look a little smaller, but in person it’s just massive.
We went out the morning of the 10th and of course that was the one morning it rained in the past two months, so no carts allowed. That was the most brutally enjoyable walk I've ever had on a course. My watch said I walked almost 9 miles and had the equivalent of something like 55 flights of stairs climbed. We were supposed to go out for an afternoon loop but we called it after 18, we were all dead tired. Like you said, give it a few years to get its legs under it and it could be one of the gems of the country. Also, this may sound douchey, but the "vibe" out there is one of the best I've ever encountered in golf.
I’ve been fortunate to play a lot of awesome golf but I was blown away by Bandon Dunes. I highly recommend everyone try to get a buddies trip out there at least once. I’d post a bunch of photos but they don’t do it justice.
Pure morbid curiosity tonight - 18k (!!) watching the LIV Golf Bangkok stream right now with someone I've never heard of in the lead battling against Richard Bland (the guy who lost like 450 straight Euro events before finally winning at age 40 something) and 3 other guys I've never heard of lol
Douchey or not, you are 100% correct. Did you carry or have a push cart? That would be brutal either way. Went up to Sutton Bay this week. That's a pretty fun place. Three days of golfing and pheasant hunting.
I’m thinking about getting new irons next year. Think I’ll do a club champion fitting in February, then have them ready to go for next season. Only problem would be is if I basically get fit into the same blocky irons I have now. No point in switching at that point.
#Iowa Hawkeyes #Iowa State Cyclones any of you guys from the Des Moines area have a decent public course I could play Tuesday morning? Only thing I really care about is the ability to buy a divot tool or ball marker after the round.
I've got trues adidas and fjs in a bunch of different styles but these Nike's are most comfortable golf shoe I've ever put on.. https://www.carlsgolfland.com/nike-...AlUh4E5T-Uw0G4EX2xp5s5u0HVd-AdCBoCO7AQAvD_BwE
Big improvement from last version - which was also great after I figured out that wide was the way to go. This version is go true to size and they are perfect.
Waveland is a good city-run course if you want something close to the city. Lots of big rolling hills, mature trees, blind tee shots, very walkable (early 1900s design), and typically in very good shape for a Muni. Tournament Club of Iowa is probably the nicest public in town, new-ish, Palmer design, wooded, challenging, etc. but it's on the edge of the Northern suburbs and a little out of the way, not walkable, and not the cheapest. Otter Creek is an option if you want more of a links-esque design and don't mind a course that winds through houses (aka a few very long walks between green and tee). Legacy is another decent option but they're plugging greens this week it looks like.
What happened with Brandon Grace? I just keep seeing pics of him on Twitter looking dead and Slugger and Greg standing over him.
My game is a mess, can’t do anything. Drives barely 10 yards of the ground, hook left. Need to stay off the course and spend time at a range to figure it out.
Took both girls out for the first time. Mainly let them putt. Figure I’ll give my oldest a year of just having fun while showing the basics to try and get her interested. Then once I know she’d really like it I’ll start getting her in lessons. Feels weird trying to work with 2 lefties as I kept having to pause and think of which hand goes where.
They don’t Never have I felt smaller on a course in this country. The greens absolutely need to be massive because the hills would overwhelm everything if they weren’t large. A few things to change, 1-2 greens have some spots borderline unplayable in areas. But it’s insane. It’s adult putt-putt golf for all the best reasons. I’d be shocked if it’s not rated as a top 50 course within 3 years.
